Check engine lights C1237 C1541 U0122 U0131

Greetings car fam,
For starters I'm getting and have been getting these check engine light codes for over 9 months now and about 12k miles. On and off...basically they'll pop on showing: Abs light Traction control light Speedometer will show zero mph Power steering light And check engine light. I can turn the car off then back on (on freeway even as it's manual) and the lights will go away. Sometimes come back right , away other times go away for weeks. I do have a widebody setup. 10.5" rears 9.5" fronts. Big 18x40x285 tires on rear. Only started happening after I got these tires. Could it just be something I live with or is there a fix?? Maybe a wheel speed sensor was damaged when installing your new tires? Do you still have the stock wheels/tires that you can temporarily reinstall to see if the problem goes away?
|
I do have stock wheels and tires.
I did take it down to a local Toyota dealership and they said it's the speed sensor not liking the oversized tires but it wasn't faulty they claim. I hate having no power steering or the ability to go above 4k rpm when driving until I restart the car ... also did I mention cruise control light turns orange as well and is unusable. Any other widebody peeps having this issue? Any fix? If it is a faulty speed sensor what's a replacement cost? |
Bump ...

Tire width does not matter, Tire Diameter does. What size are your fronts?
|
Your rear tire diameter is 8.74% bigger than stock. It could have something to do with it. Have you tried putting the stock tires back on and driving for a bit?

So for like 500 miles it's good. Then it's on constantly after I turn on the car, it goes over the 2 minute engine checks etc then BAM my dash lights up like a Christmas tree. I could put the stocks on ... ultra lame on a widebody ... but you're right I could resort to testing that. Fronts are 9.5" rims. Tire size alludes me. I'll check when I run out to the car next. |
Most probably the diameter size mismatch between front and rear tires is too large and it's throwing off the wheel speed sensors.

Aside from getting smaller tires ... |

Go to this website: https://tiresize.com/calculator/ Input your 285/40/18 and it will give you a list of alternate tire sizes, with similar diameter (less than 3% difference) that you could use on the fronts and would keep the WSS happy. |
This is disappointing as I finally have dialed in my suspension...
Lower Control arms ... Toe arms ... Coils obviously... My rear tires are big ... but damnit anything smaller looks weird af with the widebody. Finally sitting flush. |

I'm on 255 x 35 x 18 Would 245 x 40 x 18 fix my issue? |

Go to this website and see what it tells you is of similar diameter. |
