Click AT noise when coming to stop

New 2018 86 with AT, about 700 miles. When driving in auto mode, I started hearing today a “click” noise, coming from the shifter, whenever coming to a stop. Is this normal, did I just not hear it before?

It reminds me of the old “locking” noise you’d hear in the autos where you had to press the brake in order to shift from park to drive. Maybe not quite as loud as those, but otherwise very similar.

More annoying then anything, nothing else seems to be different.

Completely normal. Every AT BRZ, FRS/86 do it.

I bet it only happens when the air conditioner is on. IMO, the idle doesn't increase enough to compensate for the A/C drag.

Interesting. I do appreciate the insight everyone! Definitely a fun car
