Tsurikawa fitting question

I'd like to fit one of those things for JDM look, but as 86 has no passenger handle, how can I attach it?
Anyone did it?

Weld it directly to the roof.
Use plenty of gasoline to clean the risiual glue from the headliner.

use a sharp drill bit. through the side airbag.
