Works Motorsports sent me a cease and desist letter
Update: May 2nd 2019
Got this in the mail today. I'll just leave this cease & desist letter here and let it speak for itself. https://i.imgur.com/ZK76JPb.jpg https://i.imgur.com/HCxoh3U.jpg What do you guys think about it? I find it interesting what businesses would do to all of us when they think they know the mailing address of the person behind a social media or forum account. A lot of people get scared by big legal sounding documents and do as they say. Considering the history, i would at least consult a lawyer about the current situation.
My personal opinion is that as long as you state the true and verifiable facts of everything, there's nothing legally wrong with what you're doing, raising awareness for how they screwed you over. A company can be defined by how they choose to make a situation right. Whether that's negative or not is up to them. I'm starting to suspect they have no money to pay the court settlement. |
Yup, I agree. After calling around to several law offices and several different county small claims advice lines, It doesn't seem like a stretch that work on this attorneys Porsche or GTR is being done in exchange for his services.
A few of the law offices laughed at the idea that an attorney is even wasting their time on this case after I explained the details to them. |
His signature looks like a poorly scribbled dong :P

Uh oh, better be careful, they will send you another C&D for posting on Forums about your experience! lol

So everyone is clear about the letter it is trying to tell me to not tell everyone to go to the Instagram account under the name @Xtra_slw and look at or re-post the mulit-picture posts which are talking about someones first hand account dealing with works motorsports to spread relevant news which would be of interest to the intended audience of car enthusiasts. Just to repeat: Please do not visit the Instagram account @Xtra_slw Please do not look under the hashtag #WorksMotorsports Please do not look under the location tag "Works Motorsports" Please do not look at or re-post any of the pictures which are trying to share a customers first hand experience with works motorsports. Do not re-post any of those first hand accounts with the hashtag #WorksMotorsports Do not re-post any of those first hand accounts with the location tag "works motorsports" Do not spread this story with the rest of the automotive enthusiast community. |

It was good while it lasted, time to pack up shop and stop posting on the "official works motorsports instagram". Maybe I can try spreading my story on Grindr, I don't think works motorsports has a presence there... or do they?? :iono: |
This guy just man-splained to me how I can't be feeling like works motorsports stole money from me. The counter argument to libel in court is if the defendant in a libel case (me) 100% believes what he is say is the truth.
How the hell could I believing anything other then they stole, defrauded, scammed, conducted deceptive business practices when I believed it to the point that I am suing them in small claims court. He is really trying to #MeToo silence me and man-splain my own feelings of my own case to me. LOL!!!! |

Didn’t you ask them to remove the turbo kit because you lost your job and we’re too broke to afford it?
|
Libel is telling a publicly posted false statement. You say works Motorsports stoke money from you. That is false. You paid them and then you took them to court. If they stole money from you it would have been criminal and you could have gone after them through that avenue, however, you didn’t so you must realize that your statement “works Motorsports stole from me” is false.
