Sounds like hiring a fat tony with a baseball bat will help you get your money back faster than the courts

You could always just go visit them wearing a fishcoat.

It wouldn't get you your money, but it would make for a funny story.

Sell it to a collections agency. The credit hit will hurt more than not paying you. By a lot.

Thank You for that nugget of info! I'll research that process!

If you could DM me any helpful info or insight on that process I would greatly appreciate it.

**As of 7/12/19 still no word back from Peter Kang or Works Motorsports on this matter**

This is totally the best course of action if they don't respond by the end of August or even end of July. Collections agencies can charge like 25%-50% of the total payment they're trying to collect on depending on the time since the person was supposed to pay and the amount.

I think it would still be worth it.

I did a little research on what the loser of a small claims case goes through. Apparently works is sent a form to list their assets which they have to send to me by 30 days of receiving the final judgement. So they have a 30 day window to get back to me and if they don't then I guess I have to pursue things further or do the collections route.

They have around 2 weeks left before I can start thinking about any real action. I got my judgment notice around the end of June. Which should be around the time they received their judgement notice from the Sonoma County courts.

Yes you should totally do that. Make them pay one way or another...

Probably being a shill for works, or it was his throw away acct and he lurks with another acct:

Hasn't been on since the 11th of may

It was most likely a burner account. That or possibly someone who had a legit account and they paid or persuaded them to get back on and defend them. But I'll assume it was another they used.

His account existed since January so maybe the latter

Don't see why they don't got money. A buddy I know had gotten stage 1 turbo kit installed by em a few months ago right as this thread happened. Costed approx 6k (w/ work's oil cooler, air filter, etc). Should be able to pay you back with no issue.

Side note: I didn't think they even did a good job with the install. I see a bunch of rub marks here and there with the pipes against other parts of the car. One section they marked to cut in instructions iirc, they bent instead. Intake box looks loose and not properly attached to snorkel.

Having money doesn't equate to actually coughing it up for a court case. It seems outwardly that they have a disdain for OP and have drug him through court twice. They most likely are going to wait as long as possible to pay up

knew a guy that ran his parents company into the ground for nearly a decade. had yearly sales well over $2 million/yr with minimal overhead. filed bankruptcy once, still racked up so much debt the employee's had to juggle which credit cards they could ship product on based on which one wasn't maxed out that week.

just because people are buying stuff from them doesn't mean they've got anything.

Just tossing my $0.02.
Legally, OP is actually now a creditor (in essence). Just as any debtor, Works can choose to hold off on payment as long as possible. OP’s best course is to ask for payment a few times and document said encounters but refrain from harassing them. If they still choose not to pay, he can then go after assets the business has readily available (like a bank account). With a separate court order, the judge can rule to garnish/levy their account to satisfy the judgement (has to be done within 10 years or the judgement becomes dormant and will need to be reactivated).

Hope this helps.

Right here suckas. Boostfedbrz has a busy life working, Racing, and supporting other racers. Boostfedbrz doesn’t have time to live on forums nor does he care. I still find this tachyonbomb guy to be a whiny little girl. There are judgements and verdicts every day that aren’t just, this is another. Judges don’t understand what goes into engineering a turbo kit nor anything about automobiles. California almost always errs on the side of the customer as well. Oh well.

We’re you surprised that I wasn’t the “thug in sweat pants meant to intimidate you” you described?

Like I said, I don’t have the time for you ladies and your forum courtroom.

CSG Mike- can I order a delicious tuning kit from you? Heard you got the best products!
