There was an accident on the bay bridge which caused traffic to back up a lot around Oakland. I left my place at 5:30 AM thinking I would have plenty of time to have a quick breakfast in Santa Rosa before starting court at 8:30AM. But NOPE!!!! It took me the full 3 hours to make it to the court house with 5 minutes to spare.

The Judge will make a judgement in the next few weeks. I'm super tired to go into detail about what happened and I need a nap after driving all day. But it should be noted that the Judges reactions along with the reactions of the people in the crowd to Works Motorsports arguments was very amusing! The people sitting behind me had the best live commentary as my case was being heard.

I'm very glad that this part of the process is over. It was much easier this time around than it was the first time.

i'm no laywer, so updates like this scare me. maybe this is enough to find you in contempt, maybe not. but for me, i don't want to see your case get screwed up updating rando's on the internet about the whole thing. i'm perfectly fine with hearing about all of it once it's over.

Yes people need to be very careful what is said prior to a court case so posting info needs to be restricted. The case has now been heard though so anything said after that can not be entered into evidence nor considered as part of the claims. On the other hand Tach is still best off to be very careful what is said until he has the decision on paper. If I recall this was the appeal presented by Works so whichever way it goes is the end of this case.
Don't think that Tach was criticizing the judge there but simply stating that his reactions to the evidence presented by Works was amusing. I have spent a far amount of time in court rooms for work over the last 30 years and it is not unusual at all t be able to guess how the ruling will play out just from the judge's reactions to statements.

Yeah, not anything in particular, just don't want to see this get screwed up for him. Works has proven they're a petty, spiteful group of people by allowing the situation to escalate to this point. I wouldn't put it past them to get more desperate and try to come up with ammunition of some sort to discredit Tach...

Updates?

Wow, what a rollercoaster. Brings back memories of FA20club and the guy for whom they were building an engine an a turbo kit which took over a year (maybe more I don't remember) with nothing but a beatup car to show for...

It's already a classic to have some local "sheep" jump in and defend with teeth these shady shops. Thanks for sharing and preventing some others to get scammed and/or unknowingly support shady businesses.

Had a buddy with a similar situation to this, engine build on a EJ25 for his STI. Was at shop for over a year. Was regarded as "the best" engine builder for the EJ in the early 2000s. 18 months later no engine, he showed up and the dude about lost it when he was like ummmm you wanna know about your engine? Then a month later after progress had actually been made his shop was "broken into". At that time we cut loses and made insurance claim against stolen engine and bought a cosworth :party0030:

Throwback to the visconti tuning posts:

https://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media...ofxmy4spng.png

I distinctly remember fa20club and visconti tuning, that was the time period I hadn't owned the car yet, but had lurked around the forums enough and already had a mod list. Thankfully a whole lot of the "bad" vendors had been weeded out by the point I entered the game. People piped up to defend them both when the incidents happened and the truth had come out, still don't get why people do that.

Fa20club boss had a well known criminal history and poor knowledge of tuning.
Visconti was known for shoddy work with the GTR platform.

I remember lurking around the time they were big. It put me off from buy mods and made me realize a catback was about the only thing I wanted. Given my FR-S was my first car to ever mod let alone purchase on my own, I didn't want to mess it up. It wasn't till Cosworth came out with their Stage 1 set ups way back that I felt confident to actually modify my car.

That's kinda where I'm at right now. Not the first car I buy or mod on my own, but definitely one that I want to be more careful with. Sure it's not a twin turbo V8 or anything, but still lol I can see why you'd be put off from modding your car with stories like that. I think we have an abundance of reliable and trustworthy brands for our platform now and it's good that these forums can shed light on those that are not so.

Yep if not done yet then he is wise. If lost then...

If still ongoing could just say (case pending..)
If lost just let us know why for learning experience of how to deal with these potentially corrupt shops/companies.

His last time online is was 4 days ago. Give him a week or two to respond

I don't like digging into online court records for fear of someones privacy but @TachyonBomb gave us permission and the case number to look it up.

According to sonoma county court records there's no info past May 29th all it says was "contested" and the amount of $2957 awarded to Steven J who is the original poster on 05/29 @TachyonBomb

But it also says the case was reopened on that same date so it's not too clear on what happened or that a final judgement was entered as the site interface is kind of trash.
