2020 "Green" special edition

By now most people will probably have seen the news that Toyota will be offering the Hakone 'green' special edition FRS in the US:

What do you think? Will there be a BRZ version of this? Or will it be a Toyota-only special?

The special edition colours never seem to cross over between the Toyotas and BRZs so I would not expect to see it. The 86 is getting the green for Toyota heritage reasons that simply do not apply to Subaru. Much the same as why the 86 doesn't have WRB as a colour.

They do however seem to have their own special editions at the same time as the 86, so I would guess there would be one for the 2020 model year.

Wouldn't know what colour they'll work with this time around.

There still hasn't been a Series.Red.

How much longer do y’all see the current gen 86/BRZ be sold? All of these special editions being just parts bin nonsense.. I don’t see it stirring up any added interest at all.

Anywhere from 1 to 10 years is my guess. We at least know there will be w 2020 that is fundamentally unchanged since the Green is a 2020 MY. Anything beyond that is pure speculation since there is zero real info.
They can't stir up interest if nobody but forum guys on the internet know about them. They are secret cars as far as marketing goes.

I'd be in with a BRZ front end and PP.

I regret not getting a Limited with PP in the first place. Live and learn.

I'm guessing Series.Orange.

The BRZ color seems to come from the Crosstrek (hyper blue and yellow). Orange is the next Crosstrek only color. I wish they would do one in Island Blue though like the Impreza

Mercedes has a new blue they're calling Denim Blue Metallic, looks awesome in person. WRB is obviously a Subaru thing, be nice to see the BRZ in a few more colors though.

The BRG Miata became collectable as soon as it was released, and is still sought after. If anything, the BRG 86 will be something worth holding on to.

I’m pretty sure the 86 already got that paint code with the 860 Edition...so I’d doubt they reuse it. They did something similar with the desert gray khaki and the lunar grey storm FRS. They also did an orange special edition STi back with the last generation, so I doubt they would be so quick to use it again.

On track with the Crosstrek colors though. I’d say whatever new color it comes in for 2020 will be the new Series.Color for 2020.

I'll go with Series.beige to honor the majority of Toyotas between 2000-2010s
