Anyone have experience on removing this paint/enamal from car paint?
 

Does anyone here have any clue what's the best way to remove this spray paint/enamal from car paint?

Some a@@hole left a can of paint on the road and I ran over it, excuse the language lol.

A harsh buffing may take it off. Go find a detailer

You might try carnauba wax.

How did it get there and what was it. will help to find what will remove it.

Actually did and it somewhat worked surprisingly. But lots of elbow grease and marring the crap out if the paint. Do you think isopropyl alcohol will damage the paint?Ran over a can of paint and it exploded. I posted a link in the first post.

OK what kind of paint? Latex is fairly easy to make soft.

Alcohol may work, its worth a try. No, alcohol won't hurt the paint, as long as you don't leave it on there too long.

The more I think about it, the more I'm liking ol @DarkPira7e 's idea of taking your car to a detailer.

Sorry this time the link worked. There are several types of graffiti remover, however some will eat into the car paint . could test on the rocker panel.

Alcohol or some other solvent is probably your best bet. I would not polish until you can get the paint off.

You can try clay if there's still spots left, but I'm not confident in that helping.

Remember that solvents will likely remove whatever wax/etc you have at the very least.

i would try a bug/tar remover. i would then start working up in causticity on the underside of the rockers first(to prevent visible damage if one of them goes too far)-- paint thinner, mineral spirits, etc.

…...and acetone will take it off in a flash … but, you gotta be fast, or it will take off the clearcoat and paint and primer and the first layer of metal molecules - :eyebulge:

why do people think alcohol will remove paint? Alcohol will not touch enamel (or cured acrylic for that matter).
The best bet would have been to deal with it before it cured but pretty much screwed at this point I am afraid.
You could try a bit of nail polish remover. It is a diluted acetone that could very well remove much of the dried paint without destroying the cured acrylic underneath.

yep, the main issue is that spray paint isn't all that different from automotive paint. so anything that will remove the one tends to affect the other.
