RS 1.0 Headlights for my Base FRS

I just ordered from Toyota two 8 pin connectors for my FRS so that I can connect it to the new headlights. Can someone help me find the thread on how to rewire them for the new connectors? Thanks

You may want to read up on it, there's lots of variables, especially when it comes to how to make the DRLs work correctly. "Correctly" can be interpreted as "how you envision that they should be for your car".

Here's one-

Here's another with actual wiring colors and pin numbers-

The above thread has a link to another good thread in the first message.

On mine I could never get the DRLs to work the way I wanted them to (on full bright during the day) until I hooked them directly to the battery via a relay. Still had to re-pin the rest of the wires using the 8-pin connector though. 2014 FRS using Euro GT86 headlights.

So if I want the led drl to stay on all the time(key on) I would have to run a power wire from one of the headlight's pin to the resistor power wire right? Now, if I want it to only turn on with the low/high beam(no drl at all) I would just need to plug the pin in the correct pin slot correct?

That's correct. But the DRL would NOT be full bright, because of the way the internals are wired. For them to be full bright with no lights on you'd need to wire it to a relay. Not hard to do, I have a schematic for that.

I don't know the answer to that, I never considered not having the DRLs only coming on with the headlights. Might check with the poster who answers questions about hooking up lights.
