RS*R Sports-i Coilover system, Club4AG Moto Spec. - Group Buy
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=1&theater
These are not normally available by low price deals, but I've asked them due to demand that I have them pre-seembled at the factory to my specifications and be offered with lowest shipping by sea for 5-6 units. So it's your chance to get one at $299 off MSRP. They are 5kg/6kg Street setup with track ready adjust-ability for even track grade tires like Falken RT615K, but have the low setting capacity for OEM tires. They have ample stroke range even at 35mm drop like my own FRS due to the patented mono-tube design, and dampers are setup specifically to the FT86, not a generic shock from universal application. I've specified them with street use rubber top bushings, with bearing spring perch, so it will not bind or make undesirable noises on daily use like the race spec. The principle is to make a suspension that will enhance the FRS/BRZ without production cost constraints, and not upset the inherent balance of the car. Since I am putting together this deal for RSR-USA, please do not call RSR Japan or USA with questions, but instead call on me via PM or email to Moto@club4AG.com. The transaction and all shipping and claims will be handled by RSR USA post purchase, but I need to organize this deal so they don't need to answer the overwhelming inquiries due to the special offer. Group BUY deal from RS*R. RS*R Sports-i Coilover, Moto-spec units, adjusted and valved to my specifications as used on my car, height pre-set to my FRS on standard production based FRS/BRZ Sports-i units. (adjustable yes, but pre-set to same as my FRS) ready to install. New units $1700, from MSRP $1999 discounted. I need 5 orders firm to have this offer to you. (CORRECTION: I am now taking up to 10 set orders, also the price is FOB Los Angeles CA, so shipping charges do apply for ground shipments to USA, and air to anywhere else in the world from USA, CA residents will be paying local tax as well, unless you can provide a wholesale account) ** Let me know who wants one. I can put you down. PM or email me at Moto@club4ag.com http://youtu.be/yCnbJR17_Gk Video of my FRS at Laguna Seca Raceway with RS*R Sports-i |

Compatible with Subaru BRZ as well 100% :D

Why the hate =\ @ ngabdala
Anyways good stuff moto! I would definitely be down for this however I am buying a house next year so me buying the FRS was already a stretch haha. I am sure it won't take long to get your GB going! |
Would be nice if the coilovers came adjuste already for a mild drop (the said perfect 20mm), making them easier to installed for the people that have no access to corner weight scales

Can you supply recommended alignment angles.
Can you also name what kind of suspension components need reacing to di in the alignment? |
This would be great.....if GA was more accommodating for lower vehicles :(
Once the car gets some age on it and I figure out a way to protect the lower lip from scuffs, I might have to look into this though (even at the $2k mark) Given that I like the fact your setup is good to go for both street and track duty and has a slight drop to really minimize the wheel gap without giving up the stock behavior. also digging the music in the videos  Liked the kickoff of TM Revolution in the second one :), been forever since I've listened to any of it....music hard drive death. One last question though as I haven't looked back through the threads on your Leguna Seca runs, what TCS mode are you using? |

You can adjust the height of the RS*R at the base of the hub mount, so you can have proper stroke range at any ride height within the range of adjustment from 18mm drop to full 45mm. I use mine at 35mm drop but if you prefer you can use it at 18-20mm drop to save your lip. :D |

Alignment angles are all stock spec. You must do this after you install and set the height, even if you use it out of the box with my setup. As dropping a static ride height also has effects on where caster, camber sits, simply due to arms pivioting away, and this is true for ANY suspension. Only the camber I left at 0.7 degrees increase as that's helpful on grippier tires, over stock, and does not use crash bolts yet. Works like a charm on FRS, no need to play too much with alignment. It is very sensitive to alignment changes so I wouldn't change it much until an actual need can be proven and tested in extensive autocross or road track setting environment and that's usually only because of finer pinpoint needs that will sacrifice something for gains... That's usually something we do strictly if we're after trophies and are dedicated to specific form of racing, not for the multi-role sports car, which we need it to be pleasant for all around use on many conditions and tires. :D |
must make more money..
|
Need more moneyz....
|
3 more to go!
|
I can have more orders than just 5-6. But hurry as I just want to get this in and out to folks that are ready for it. And it's shipping on the same container so once it ships, there will be no more discount for a long while.
Not much margin for discount on these hand-built, custom setup. |
dumb question.
i was not able to pick it up from other RS*R thd. how many way adjustable is this setup? so far isee ride hight. is damping, rebound, high and low speed adjustable as well? |
Very tempting... RSR use to make great exhaust systems too....

My theory is to do much of the valving specific to the car, and incorporating the proper balance at all ranged specific to the intended design target use. And by simplifying the VERY tedious task of having to double adjust, we can spend less time with R&D on our own and more enjoying the car. High and low speed damper motions are directly dependent on damper/ spring combinations, and that has been worked out already and have been tested by RSR as well as us, and many firms in Japan. What I offer is something rather more specifically tested by us, and ship these sets beaded on my preferences gathered from my 2000+ miles of use from city to tracks. And they are fully adjustable for height and damper rates from that point. |
Sometimes manufacturers will impress you with the dozens of points of adjustability and features that can be changed. But my philosophy of suspension is to work out the necessary parameters where the units is very well matched to the car, and allow variations from that point only enough adjustments to not ruin the balance and performance.
I choose RSR I-Shock series because they do just that for each car they design suspensions for, and all of them are made in-house, not outsourced and not made from generic sets universal to applications for many. They are setup with resources not only from within but also from third party drivers and teams that feed back, and designed specifically down to the valving for a specific car and range of intended applications. |

I appreciate all the great info Moto! haha now I just need to make more money like everyone else.
|
Very interested. What is the lead and ship time once all orders are collected?
|
I want a set of these, bad.

Same here. How soon would payment be required? Wondering if I have enough time to save up some funds... |

Gil, pay for my set too.
AJ, from an earlier Facebook post I think Moto will want the payment soon for delivery in September as these are all hand built. |
Sure as long as you pay for my weds sports tc105n 18x8 +42

What happened to 35 offset?
|
Tough to find :( Almost breaking down and willing to accept any offset reasonable at this point. Course the smart thing to do is wait a few months until they really start making some 5x100 stuff to accommodate the 86 crowd

Can't wait. :)
|
Couldn't you order them as a custom offset of of their site?
It's going to be fun to look back at the pictures from this drive during future drives and see how everyone's car has progressed. |

I found a site which lists several coil and spring alternatives for the frs and : http://brzfrsdiy.blogspot.se/p/brz-f...n-options.html Here I see 3 coil alternatives from RS-R: RS*R iSport Soft +0.6-1.6"/5.0k +1.2-3.2"/6.0k SPIF065S $TBD$ RS*R iSport Std +0.6-1.6"/6.0k +1.2-3.2"/7.0k SPIT065M $2449 RS*R iSport Hard +0.6-1.6"/7.0k +1.2-3.2"/8.0k SPIF065H $TBD$ As you see the alternatives are 5/6, 6/7 and 7/8. Will not all of these alternatives give a more neutral car than 5/8? With a relative soft front compared to the rear, 5/8, I would guess this would understeer more compared to the RS-R alternatives listed above. Please correct me if I am wrong. Standard cars: SPRINGS Front/Rate Rear/Rate Part # MSRP OEM Toyota 86 0.0"/3.0k 0.0"/3.3k TBD $--- OEM Scion FR-S 0.0"/2.3k 0.0"/3.8k TBD $--- OEM Subaru BRZ M/T 0.0"/2.7k 0.0"/3.5k F:20330CA010 $79.70 R:20380CA010 $79.70 OEM Subaru BRZ A/T 0.0"/2.7k 0.0"/3.5k F:20330CA020 $79.70 R:20380CA010 $79.70 Here you se that the Gt86 has the closest between front and rear rate and thus would be the most neutral steered of the OEM setups, or am I wrong please tell me since I want to learn. I was looking for the spring rates for the JDM TRD springs and found this site, I have no idea if the numbers or the site are correct or up to date. Thank you for great contributing to this and your own site, |
Hi there, would you send a set to Sydney Australia .. postcode 2759?? and Will they suit a 100% race car running on true semi slicks like Dunlop D03 or Yokohama A050. If not can they be valved and sprung for my purpose.. thanks in advance for your efforts here.. Chris

Would it be possible for me to participate in this GB from Dubai? I have credit card and Paypal ready to go. Liking the MotoP specs and the price is good.

Sorry I took so long to get back to your inquires. Just finishing up on the last big event and was a bit overwhelmed till today. Thank you for all your inquires and commitments. I'll try to answer the above questions on one post. I will start to request all payments before end of August 2012. This will be directly payable to RSR USA and will be shipped from RSR USA location to where ever it needs to go from there. Will Calls will be appreciated for local folks, and minimal shipping costs may apply to locations in the USA (domestic shipping), and tax will be due for all purchases to CA residents. International orders will also be welcome, however shipping will occur from USA, so all shipping fees will be in addition to the set basic price of $1700. IF all payments are in by the end of August, or arrangements made with RS*R USA, suspension kits will ship by sea and we will be expecting this by late September. The only way to save on these is in the slower sea container shipping so please be patient on this. Yes, Australia and Dubai, they can ship at additional costs from the USA. Correction: My set is the 5kg-6kg street setup with custom valve and height pre-set. The actual units are adjustable for height just as in normal RS*R setup, only that this will arrive with my settings pre-tuned. Also, addressing another inquiry, this is not the pillow ball upper mount type, as I believe that unless this is a dedicated race car, pillow upper will put excessive stress on impacts, and generate noises from the units which are normal to such rigid joints on any car. I prefer to keep it useful in track situations, but be compliant and comfortable for use on the street with street tires, and that was the goal of my R&D on this system. So it comes with flip-top upper mount which can adjust for slight camber increase of 1 degree, which I use on normal setting of no increase. Tires wear fine on the natural camber created by the suspension lowered by the amount of drop via the upper an lower arms, just as designed by Tada san, but slightly more since it's over the -20mm, at slightly over -30+mm. The steering and loaded cornering balance is best seen with the video I posted of my car at Laguna Seca, using the exact setting as these units, but with Falken Azenis RT615K 225/40-18 all four. Balance isn't too far off with OEM tires, only ever so slightly more understeer, but this is an area where driving habits and skills will affect the actual character than the difference in tires here. Quote:
Yes you can, but you will be paying the full price if you do order them with your own setting and can't be included in the Group Buy, as that would require another calibrated assembly process in Japan. |
Thanks Moto-San. Please let us know the next steps (how we pay you and stuff). :)
