Psa: do not buy from tomei usa or any of their distributers
This may not not to news to everyone but this is news to me.
Sad to see tomei usa did this to one of my fav brands. So tomei usa was contracted to sell and make parts for the us market. Any part number you see that starts with a t was made by tomei usa. Tomei japan found out that the parts were being made sub par and cut all ties with tomei usa. Now they are separate entities. So if you want the real deal order from rhdjapan or nengun. The Japanese part numbers are just numbers. No t. Example: Sr20 oil pan 11111R520 vs TB205A-NS08A Corect me if I'm wrong on any of this. https://www.instagram.com/p/BwInrMCF...d=zazsqdf8amgz |
Sourcing to your claim?
Tomei Japan stated the license contract expired, nothing about poor quality as a reason for dropping licensing? For what it’s worth, I haven’t heard any complaints re: Tomei headers and CBE’s that were previously covered under Tomei Japan and now recoded w/ a new part#. Also, if I’m not mistaken, their header mold isn’t even unique as the Gruppe header is in essence, identical, and for a lower price point. |
Tomei USA has been a separate company since day 1 of their inception in California.
None of this is news, it's just the lawsuit between USA and Japan has finally run its course and Japan is now publicly calling out USA for developing their own parts and no longer paying Japan a royalty or buying via Japan. Tomei USA gaskets (same as Japan) are both made in Taiwan. Tomei USA manifolds (same as Japan) are both made in Taiwan. Tomei USA titanium exhausts (same as Japan) are both made in China. Tomei Japan cams are made at their HQ in Japan. Tomei USA cams are sourced from Taiwan or China. None of this is of any surprise, you guys really think titanium exhausts can retail for $1000 MSRP and be "made in Japan"? it's all just good marketing, years and years of marketing. Buying this from USA or "straight from Japan" really doesn't mean anything, so to say "stop buying from USA" is just playing into this politics and power struggle game between Tomei Japan and Tomei USA and really doesn't do anything to improve your product purchasing experience. -alex P.S. only those folks that are so stuck on "JDM" would insist on buying Tomei Japan part numbers... |

Nobody here it's talking about where it was made we are talkin about the how tomei usa developed and souced their own parts and lower qaulity
|
The point is buy from Japan where you got the top-notch quality as opposed to The Cutting corners of the u.s. office of the same product

It doesn't seem like you read anything mav1178 wrote... Everything is sourced from the same origin countries, and if you've been buying Tomei USA you've been getting the same parts as you would now. It's just a statement now that the dust has settled from the lawsuit. |
Why is Tomei exhaust the go-to exhaust for so many Americans?

Tomei japan authorized Tomei usa to sell authentic tomei japan product in the united states. tomei USA went behind tomei Japan and had a DIFFERENT factory manufacture Tomei products, and sell them as Tomei product in USA (also branded RSE/ Real Speed Engineering) Tomei japan discovers this, after customer complaints about quality, cuts ties with Tomei USA, but since the people who run Tomei USA own the licensing for the Tomei NAME, in USA, tomei japan has to come out and publicly say "hey tomei USA product is NOT made by Tomei JAPAN"" Not same factory or quality |
here we go again...

Not the same subject. This is a situation of a regional branch making subpar products compared to the mother branch to maximize their profit and mom finding out

Why is the Prius the go-to shitbox for so many Americans?

one of the boys on Grand Tour said something recently that i had never thought of before. something along the lines of: someone writes an autobiography based off their years of life, years of experience, years of knowhow, etc. the book gets printed wherever, and you read it and you get a book and depending on the ability of the author, you get a really good book, or a shit book. relate that to the teams at amg or bmw's M team, designing, prototyping, testing performance parts, heads, intakes, etc. then it gets made wherever, and you get the product amg or bm intended to put out. If amg did a shit job, you get a shit header.
i know i butchered it, its from season three, im sure most of you have seen it. |
