Bead Maker paint protectant
Has any one had any experience with Bead Maker paint protectant? Is it worth it?Water spots etc. https://psdetailproducts.com/i-23875...protectant.htm
thanks |
Never tried this particular product but have never seen one that works 100% as promised. If it does shed water it will help reduce water spots but any water that pools should still be wiped off to prevent them completely. Looks like it could be worth a shot so let us knowhow well it works if you try it.

It's a decent drying aid/finisher to a wash. It doesn't dry fast like other similar products.
I wouldn't use it as standalone paint protection. It does however leave your paint with a satisfying slick feel once you work it in. |
It's a popular product for youtubers / car detailers to review, that's probably where you heard about it.
It looks like a good product, and the price isn't too bad. If you buy it by the gallon its about the same price as Meguiar's spray wax. It probably won't help you if you have a water spotting issue. Beading leaves dots when it dries. |
I've just started using it a couple of weeks ago as a topcoat over wax (been using Collinite 845 for about a year now) and then as a drying aide for washing.
It adds noticeable extra slickness/hydrophobic effects for water shedding beyond just having wax. I drove to work this morning starting in light rain and turning to dry for the last 10 minutes and the car was almost completely dry when I got to work. Yesterday a bird left me a present on my rear quarter panel, and to my surprise the liquid deposit was beading on the paint and very easy to wipe off. I can't say I have ever seen bird droppings bead on paint before. I think I still prefer Carpro Ech2o as a drying aide. That stuff diluted 1:15 streaks a lot less and has an easier final wipe. Beadmaker seems to need at least 1-2 extra passes with a microfiber to get the panel streak free even with a brand new towel. It costs $43CAD/gallon for me, and based on how much I'm using (~5oz/wash) the gallon should last me about a year. Can't say for certain if it will solve your water spotting issue though. My city water and rainwater are pretty soft so I've never had an issue wiping off spots even when droplets have been baked on by the sun. To me it is fairly cheap so definitely give it a try. |
this product sucks. Can be prettty, real pretty just applied but has no chemical resistance, after first prewash of even a neutral product it weakens a lot
any sealant of csrpro, angelwax, dodo, gyeon etc is much superior |
I use Chemical Guys vo7 spray sealant with griots pfm drying towel while the car is wet and i have better results than beadmaker. Humid is a killer of beadmaker so keep that in mind

Yup, Carpro is much better & so is Optimum products. Carpro Reload and Optimum Instant Detailer are awesome products. The Carpro Reload beads and lasts a bit longer than Optimum Instant Detailer. I've used both on ceramic coated car. ;) |
Never heard of that one but if you're in the market for a wax/detailer that doesn't allow for water marks, then I have two rec's.
I like to use Griot's Garage products. Fast drying, does job well and lasts. I always carry a bottle of their blue liquid detailer and yellow/milky spray on wax. Before trips during bug season I use detailer. When I arrive home/destination its much easier to remove bug flesh. Also give Lucas Oil Slick Mist Speed Wax a try. Those are my exterior to go to sprays. No water marks, smells so nice! and if it dries, just mist a bit of water and it can be easily removed. |
