OFT Problems

Hi everyone,

i recently bought a new oft for gt86.
Now i have read the gt86 with the oft but now i can't upload tuning files to the oft with ofm. i always get error code: IDS_comm_error
I've been asking a friend who also has a oft to help me. it seems i can't even open diagnostics in the car on the oft but with my friends oft it works fine.
So we wanted to erase the oft but we get the message that there are no credits present. weird because its a brand new oft out of the box. :bonk:
We also tried to update the template but that even won't work it says file not found.
I e-mailed the guys from openflash tablet and they answered me 2 files that i have to copy in to the update directory and let the oft update. I did that but i still have the same poblems. i answered them it still doesn't work but now i don't get any reply's anymore. I even asked for new erase credits to start all over again by reading my ecu. But no answer again :(
It's been 5 weeks now and i still can't use my new oft

I hope any of you guys can help me.

:thanks:

Have you tried hooking it to the computer with OFM and updating the firmware on the OFT?

Yes we did (I'm the friend btw :p)

The following quote is a post I made in the Facebook group:

So an owner in our group has some problems with his (new) OFT v2.
It was bought new from OpenFlash directly and arrived this weekend.
He has read the stock tune without any problem but every time he uploads a tune he gets a IDS_comm_err message at the end of the writing. He has a 700G CalID, the tune is correct.
We tried to update the template file and gave also a "file not found" error after uploading the template.
We've tested it on my PC, I got the same error with his tablet then I connected my OFT (v1) to the pc and the v1 worked (read/write). So software/OS and USB isn't the problem.
Connected it back in the car, once you press the tune button it starts directly to read and generating tunes (but doesn't really do it). Doesn't matter if the car is turned on or off it starts reading and generating.
The read and write buttons are grayed out.
Tried the ECU read out and that worked, but the diagnostics gave also an error.
Connected my V1 and my tablet could read the diagnostics without any problem.
We also swapped cables to test for a faulty cable.
Then we tried to erase the tablet to start completely over (the 'fuck it, lets erase the thing' approach) but we got an error saying that all the erase credits were used up.
Anyone has an idea or is he SOL?

Only answer I got was to contact OpenFlash and a couple of more guys got the same problem.

I have the exact same problem, right down to the month without a resolution... hopefully some sort of answer turns up soon.
