Thanks man! Love your build also! My cars been there for along time, almost 3 months tomorrow. I got unlucky and got one of those faulty DW Fuel pumps, took awhile for the guys over there at that shop to figure out what was wrong with my car. Hopefully I can finally take her home this month.

I highly recommend them, they're so comfortable and keep you in place when taking corners very well :party0030:

did you ever get the design craft clutch fork?

outlaweking 03-12-2016 08:44 PM

Did you have to roll the fender for the Advan?

No I didn't, I was trying to reach him for months but no response back. But I had Evasive motorsports reinforce a spare stock one for me, Since my clutch starting making a really loud sound on deceleration it was only noticeable at low speeds(sub 30mph/4000rpm). The clutch still worked 100% and made no noise on acceleration. The clutch was reinstalled with the custom fork and I haven't had a problem since, also my stock fork was noticeably bent compared to the custom fab'd one. Just a heads up since I know you run a Twin plate also, its worth upgrading if any problems that I stated pop up on you.

Here's some photos of my stock fork and the custom one(Not finished at the time). It was fully reinforced when it was reinstalled, I just don't have photos of it finished.

No fender work, but some adjustment was made with the alignment to make sure everything worked. But the car still rubs on full lock with 255 width tires with what I believe is a 1.9-2.1 inch drop, Im not 100% sure on the height since we have raised and lowered it multiple times.

I was thinking of doing the same thing too... I reached out to him some more this past week.. I guess if it comes down to it, I'll just have to do the same.

very sexy looking built motor you have chosen. You've re-lit my desire to build the FA20 instead of doing a motor swap. Are you staying with the same turbo after the built motor arrives? keen to see results on a closed deck fa20

Once we sort out the motor (Its having a few problems from reusing the old VVT cams from the blown motor). We're gonna first max out the Garrett GTX2867R which should run out of steam around 20 PSI and should be around 400+HP on E85.
Next comes either the option of a direct bolt on Garrett GTX3076R, which we will try to get it too mid 600 HP numbers on E85 or might just switch it up and go with a new twin scroll manifold fro, JDL and put a BorgWarner turbo on it. Or we might try and stick on a Garrett GTX3582R and try and hit 700Hp haha :D

Personally I don't look to run more then 700Hp on the block, because I don't want to put that much strain on the Carrillo rods since they personally might be the weakest point in the whole build. Not because of the company, but because these FA motors run a offset design rod that isn't as strong as a straight one.

If you go this route you should try and bore out the motor to 2.1 or 2.2L since the closed deck reinforces the block in the most vital area when the piston is fully compressing the gasses. Either route you go i'm pretty sure you will enjoy this motor, you will be able to beat on it all day at 500-600HP numbers and not have to worry about reliability.
