Whining noise when dropping RPMs with the clutch in
https://youtu.be/2MAY8KmqaWk
Details in the video description I think the sound does a decent job coming up on the recording. I can hear it without headphones on but yall might need them since you dont know what youre listening for. I volume matched the clips but just in case, keep it quiet because halfway through it switches to the outside. You cant hear it in those clips because the regular engine noise is just too much. If anyone has dealt with this before thatd be clutch (kek). I tried searching and the closest thread is not my same problem. bibbity boppity give me the zoppity |
hmmm.....let's see, you say the sound happens when the clutch is IN. Does that mean when it IS or is NOT engaged?
What year is your car? How many miles? Stock clutch? Any power mods? Come back - :) humfrz |

2014, 40k miles. Got it at 38k and no noise (that i noticed, but its pretty noticeable so i reckon id have heard it if it was happening). No mods. Factory TRD exhaust. I got a hunch its the concentric tubes? The one that holds the bar that connects to the gears. When the inside of the tube is spinning while the clutch is disengaged => something is protruding from the fork and its rubbing the layshaft. Looking at a picture of a clutch i cant think of anything else that would make a noise like this. bibbity boppity give me the zoppity |
OK, when the pedal is down, the clutch is disengaged. At that time the throw out (release) bearing is "working".
It could be that the TOB is acting up - :iono: humfrz |
