Lower Avg MPG

I went from 19 city mpg avg with my hks sc to now running 11.1 avg mpg. Is there a possibly that weather has a major effect in this. Saturday was mid 60s today it’s 28 degrees.

yes weather has a major effect on this. As does your driving habits and a ton of other things.

I am getting 29 mpg with JRSC in sub 32F temperatures in the city. Either you're driving like a maniac or car has a big problem.

This ^ There is no way on earth that you should be getting 11 no matter what the weather is. How are you getting the readings?

PetrolioBenzina 03-05-2019 10:24 AM

I get 14 on E95 NA. I drive like a maniac.

Little Mt. Fuji 03-05-2019 10:40 AM

Assuming you measured your fuel consumption correctly, I think there is something wrong with your car.

Even ol @PetrolioBenzina can't get that low - :D

are you driving at over 4k RPM constantly?

BigTuna 03-05-2019 02:55 PM

Sounds more like an exhaust or vacuum leak

Edit: or bad O2

You have a supercharger, right?

Did you just buy the car? (2013 with 7 posts)

If you bought the kit, then go to the tuner. If you don't know who tuned it, then consider finding a shop to look over the code and see if it is just dumping fuel to deal with the higher density of air or the temperature. Imagine if the car was only ever used in Florida and the tuner could never test colder temps. How would they know. Or it is like other people said - a leak somewhere.

I get 19 in full stop n go traffics with JRSC driven in a smooth gas saving mode.
I get 29-30 freeway cruise, and 6+ at track.
At 11 I am guessing you drove all the way in first gear?! ;)

I thought I drove like an Ass and I get 18 in the city. Are you pre warming your car? long idle will kill your calculated mileage.
