Subaru’s charge for Spark Plugs

I called Subaru and asked how much the spark plugs were because I was trying to get them changed while they work on the recall and they said the total cost for the parts is 149 dollars.

I've seen posts where Toyota charges around 80. It's okay to buy it from Toyota and give it.to the service.department right?

Ask the service department. Some let you bring in outside parts, some don't like it

They're a $18-25 plug. Maybe the extra they added is just included for a pizza party for the techs working on your vehicle? What kind of monster will deny a couple hard working fellas pizza!

Ok I, I'll ask and see if they are okay with it. I asked if I can bring aftermarket clutch assembly and they agreed to it. Going to bring exedy pro kit own clutch.

Also the parts department said Subaru doesn't resurface the flywheel. I was surprised by that.. Is it true?

It all depends on the wear. Or how much of chump they deem you are. I'll say they would make the case to buy a new flywheel so they can get another 2 hours of labor.

It probably is more of a case that they can't then the won't. I doubt many dealers keep the equipment around anymore for the couple a year they may do. If they have a local machine shop they can use they may send it out (mine was) that but normally they would just replace it if it is that bad.

When I asked for a quote to do the clutch at my local dealer they said they wouldn't do it without replacing the flywheel. The shop I had it done at measured it and said it didn't even need to be turned. This same dealer also wants their regular price to change the plugs as if they're not going to have the engine out, over $300. I won't be taking my car to that dealer for the recall work.
