'15 BRZ
Just a small journal of my BRZ.
I'm an old guy, been around Subaru for ages. Got rid of my '16 STi for this beautiful '15 BRZ. Honestly, not sure what sparked my decision. I think it was really the moment I got into the BRZ, i fell in love with the seating position. Drove it around the block and I was pretty much sold. It is much more of a drivers car than the STi was. Something about the way the steering feels, the way the shifter feels and the entire driving experience from the moment you get into the car. I think I'll be keeping this for a while, and battling the Canadian winters as a daily driver. Also love the new WRB Pearl. Anyways so far: -Ft-86 Catted UEL -MXP Cat-back -Motiv Overpipe -STi front lip -STi fender garnish I think I'll be selling the STi fender garnish for some TRD fins, not sure why I like those, but they look pretty sweet to me. Will be posting for sale soon. I'll update this as I go along. Thank you https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/e1...8=w648-h864-no |
So I wanted to jazz up the rear wing and immediately fell in love with the STi style wing gurney attachment. I was pretty much ready to pull the trigger until i found out it was some form of hard rubber. I wanted something more rigid, and finally settled with the PasswordJDM one.
I decided to go for the Kevlar style to be unique. The gurney comes one side Kevlar and the other side Carbon. I was under the assumption that it was supposed to be entirely Kevlar on both sides, but I kind of like the 2 tone. It's pretty solid. Painted 2 coats of clear on the carbon side and a coat of clear on the Kevlar. Looks pretty neat, not sure how it'll look on the WRB once on, but I'll have to wait until its a bit warmer to try it out. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/ex...E=w500-h681-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/2N...I=w504-h680-no Thanks |
What car is the BMW? :) Thought you have been around Subaru for ages?

Lol, I was all on board to purchase the Ascent as we needed a 7-seater to haul the family, but the wife is a BMW fan, and so we ended up with an X5. ------- Well, managed to get this thing on. I think the fit and finish are good, not excelllent. I'd give the finish about a 7/10, I've seen nicer carbon weeves. The kevlar portion is laid a littler better. The fit is about 6/10. It follows the contours great and I like the way it sits, but my only issue is that it doesn't line up all the way with the oem spoiler on the sides. There's maybe a 2/16inch gap on each side. Probably no one will ever notice, but it's one of those things that I keep seeing. I just wish it were completely flush. But overall pretty happy; and at least it's a solid part. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/6j...s=w978-h741-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/lD...g=w973-h713-no |
My goal is to run an 18x9.5 +38, and to ensure proper clearance and to have it lowered down a hair, I decided to get coils.
Can't really go wrong with Teins for the price. I'll try to grab a pic once I unpack them. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/m4...Y=w672-h895-no |

These cars are real fun to drive in the winter especially in the snow for a bit of sideways fun.. I would drive mine in the winter too but they salt the roads in the GTA like it's free. |
Like the color choice

message me when you take the fender garnishes off.
Nice progress so far. |
Can we have some sound clips? Lol.

Finally got the coils on, lowered about 1inch. It's not low, but functional. There is about -1 camber all round, toe didn't really change after the coils. I think the ride is actually quite comfy. The stock suspension is quite jarring, so it is quite an improvement.
I fitted the car with 255/35/18 on 18x9.5 +38 rpf1s. I think next time I'd go 265/35 plenty of room for that. Everything feels great but I do feel the car would benefit from a slightly larger rear sway bar. I'm gonna drive it around a bit and see how things settle over the next few weeks https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/AR...w=w650-h528-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/0W...4=w778-h506-no |
