LOCATION OF BOV?
Hello everyone,
I have a HKS Supercharger installed and I'm having a hard time finding the BOV. If possible can someone please link a photo of where its located or maybe a link to a video showing where its at? Having problems I need to address and I want to start there! Thank you! |
Isn't it the large wart on your intake piping near the throttle body?
|
Superchargers don't have BOVs.
Turbos do, some are optional. Also your google-fu is weak young grasshopper. |
Looks like it is the little manifold about 6 inches away from the TB

HKS supercharger has bypass valve.
|
To make everyone happy, it's a very basic BOV that has a function of bypass valve during lift off accelerator pedal in this kit :D

Definitely not always the case. You see people put BOVs on centrifugal kits all the time. Some kits even optional bigger / better versions. (vortech maxflow etc) Almost all types have a bypass valve of some kind now, even OEMs. Quote:
The BPV setup like that doesn't really make the traditional BOV noise. Its recirculating the air back in to the intake tract as opposed to venting it to the atmosphere. |

One should drill the charge pipe and put the maf there just before the throttle body to be able to vent it to atmosphere, like Vortech centrifugal kit it's there to do its job, to relief pressure during throttle off events |
BOV and Recirculated valves do the same thing. One makes noise one does not. In order to do a BOV correct you will need to relocate the mas air flow sensor to after the BOV.
