OptiCoat in North Florida?

So I've been hearing a lot about this whole Opticoating stuf...I'm curious now.

Does anyone know where to get it done in North Florida? Like around the Jacksonville area, or at least someone I can talk to to learn more about it?

Thanks.

Do a Google search for Garry Dean Tampa or check out my website **********************.com.

There are many people here who can vouch for me.

Garry is definitely one of the few true "detailers" in FL. He's worth the drive. There might be guys closer to you, but none with his reputation.

After reading through the forums and seeing some happy customers from Garry, I've made up my mind once I get my FR-S that he'll be doing mine. I head down through Tampa about once a month anyway. Either that or is a 2fer a feasible idea?

And not to hijack the thread or anything, but I plan on getting a clear bra put on my car (not necessarily at the dealer). Seeing as Opticoat includes removing some of the clearcoat, is it recommended to apply the clear bra after opticoating (to do the whole car evenly) rather than having a defined line if I ever wanted to take the clear bra off?

You're not hijacking anything, since I'm curious about this also.

There's also Brian @ AO Wheels http://aowheels.com/?page_id=1814&fb_source=message

He's a also a very good detailer.

FWIW, clear removal for opti coat, assuming the car isn't absolutely hammered, will be very, very minimal. Generally speaking, when opti-coating and filming the ideal process is:

prep areas to be filmed properly
apply film
detail entire car, apply opti coat.

If this isn't possible (assuming the clear bra guy and detail guy don't work together/aren't the same guy), I'd detail, apply opti coat, then to film (then if you want return to the detailer to OC the film).

RE: any potential "lines", if the detailer does his job properly there won't be any lines assuming you remove the film at a later time. I would definitely err on the side of OC;ing the film rather than OCing then filming and skipping OC on film.
