Mod list advice

Hey everyone I've had my frs for about a year now, I've decided to upgrade some parts, so far my list is, invidia exhaust, up pipe, takeda intake, lighten flywheel and aluminum drive shaft. I autocross pretty regularly so Im just looking for some suggestions on my list. I already have wheels so no need to worry there.

If you autocross regularly, what are you looking to change about the car to be faster? A lot of your parts are power bolt-ons, I'd think you'd be more interested in bushings and handling upgrades.

What deficiency are you looking to treat? We can give you better help if we know that.

Hmm what I was looking for was a little bit more grunt, I'm happy with how the car feels the tires and front strut bar seemed to make a difference but I'm open to suggestions

I'd say get headers and an OpenFlash tablet. The headers and tune will add more to the car than most anything else ( unless you have E85 fuel available to you, which is another huge power bonus). Most everything else appears frivolous. I think the aluminum driveshaft is a good idea for response, but nowhere near as cost effective as headers and tune.

agree with getting a header and tune.
I have an intake on mine and while it sounds better I can't really feel a difference so I would think thats not really high on the priority list.
header, tune, and tires would be the starter list IMO

Tires, suspension, more seat time are the best "mods" you can do.

Thanks for input, what headers do you suggest ? I was looking at revworks myself, I think it sounds mean

Tough to make a suggestion. budget, need, and expectations are the three things you'll want to consider. It's easy to suggest ACE headers if you have an unlimited budget and just want the most possible gain from a set of headers.
I'll be honest, I went with super cheap UEL headers ( CNT on eBay) and they've been awesome for almost 3 years now. Gained a fat amount of torque / HP in the mid range, a little bit up top, and the car sounds nice if you really like the UEL Subaru boxer sound. My friend has the FT86speedfactory headers and mine make the same power on the same dyno, so I can't suggest spending big unless you want to support a company you love. I'd do it the same all over again. Tune and cheap headers. I'd take the $600 I saved not buying amazing headers and put it towards a good set of pads and rotors to have a perfect DD car (in my opinion).

Get an oil cooler

If you autocross you first need to decide if you want to be competitive or not in your class. If you choose to be competitive follow the class rules. If you don't care, then a header and tune are the first mod you should do for power, unless you have tens of thousands of dollars burning a hole in your pocket that you can use to go fi.

Blitz_86 02-13-2019 06:02 PM

Since I've got a little money to spend I've decided exhaust intake up headers and tune

Sapphireho 02-13-2019 06:08 PM

Like @why? says, if you are a serious autocross guy, build to the class you want to run. That will tell you what you can and can't do.

The correct tires and driver mod.
