Toyotapartsoutlet.com is going to get answers from Toyota this week. Start posting

Hello again

My name is Blake and I'm with toyotapartsoutlet. I'm going to make this short and simple. We have a group of master Techs going to Toyota for the rest of the week. They will be taking classes on the new Scion FR-S and leaving Wednesday night. I have talked to them and they asked for a list of any issues, problems, and concerns so they may bring up and see if there is any anticipated resolutions to the car. The technicians have 24 hours to prepare for this event, so if everyone will supply there issues, problems, and concerns as soon as possible in this thread, the FR-S community will be very thankful.

Thanks again
Blake

Ask how to eliminate the cricket noise from the motor..

civicdrivr 07-31-2012 12:40 PM

What is Toyota doing about the rpm dip that most cars have?

Is the cricket noise really the DI system or something we should be worried about?

Are they going to investigate the auto up/down feature on the passenger window that many members have had problems with?

Why does the 6MT have a 'clunk/thud' sound and feel through the whole car when shifting into first while stopped? I feel like I'm doing something that will break it eventually even though people are saying it's normal.

keep them coming.

If you wait 2-3 seconds between clutch depressed and shifting into gear, it doesn't do this.

Moving forward, how do they plan on improving the paint quality since the light scuffs and rock chips are way too common.

fuel gauge not reading properly

Has anyone had any issue with fuel gauge not reading correctly.
On the weekend went and filled up the car, gauge was reading 1/2 full.
filled up car till the pump stopped, paid for gas drove off and noticed that the fuel gauge had not moved, still at same point before I had added fuel.

Some factory options I would like to see available:

1) Another smaller crash bolt size made available
2) 8" wide wheel, either 8x17 or 8x18
3) Front strut bar to complement the existing firewall strut bars

Rear deck making popping (or ticking/tapping) sound.
When rear seats are down, it sounds like a small stone is dropping on top of the trunk.
When rear seats are up, the sound gets dull.
It happens at any speed even at 5 mph in a parking lot.

There are a number of people experiencing this noise in Japan and some of them were able to get it fixed.
The fix is to adjust the spacing in the part circled in red below:

I want to have this known to Toyota/Scion in U.S. also, so that I can get mine fixed too.
