Am I an idiot?? Or is this wrong??

So I just got my car back last week from a repair shop because of an accident.
Basically they replaced everything on the front bumper and new hood. But today I was looking at the car and not really sure if the hood is supposed to look like this or am I crazy?? :bonk: |
Those 2 creases in the middle of the hood near the bumper are normal.

Thank you! I just hate the repair shop my insurance company sent me to it was really sketchy. Never ever going there again.

The odd creases are normal. The first picture reminded my of my NA Miata PTSD with the nose piece deforming.. I don't recall if the gap looks like that on my FRS. I'll check after work.

Can confirm, it is the body line from front emblem space. Totally normal. Strange it doesnt match the bumper better, perhaps its a non-OEM bumper. Also I can see dirt in the paint from your photos.
Also, take a magnet to your hood and insure its an aluminum hood, per OEM. https://i.imgur.com/PRXuFyc.png |
I got to work a little early and was inspecting the car lol.
It has been raining here all week. Waiting on the rain to stop so I can give it a nice wash lol. And ill check on that with a magnet after work. Even though the paper said oem and had the part number you know these body shops. :mad0260: |
You really don't need a magnet.. if you open the hood and it feels normal, it's aluminum. Steel will be MUCH heavier.

Is anyone making steel hoods for twins? All aftermarket hoods i've seen were FRP or CF. Yes, some even as heavy or heavier then stock, but still, only from those materials.
