This has been discussed here previously a while back. I was on board for the initial product... I even paid the deposit. I believe it was funding and distribution that killed the initial launch.

Thanks for reminding me about this with your post. As is, without the A/C controls is tempting by I think I'll wait to get this once the A/C module is released.

In fact, I'm might go ahead and order the Galaxy tablet real soon!

Has anyone actually tried this and got it to work properly with the climate control and Audio?

From what I understand... they haven't got the climate control working with their software. I understand that the climate controls would work as normal if you do the install at this point in the R&D process.

Now, once their climate control module is up and running the climate controls switch panel might be able to blanked out and the controls would be on the tablet.

So if I'm understanding correctly everything should work as advertised at this point. Reason I'm asking is I'm very interested in trying this but dont want to drop the cash of it wont work right.

I'd contact workshop12 to verify but yes... I understand the full functionality of the tablet (audio, power, USB) is available now minus the climate control integration.

all i've got anymore is the pictures of my own build, which focused specifically on using the double-din form factor. before everything shut down, there were a couple builds using ipads or 17" pc screens that accomplished what the original post shows.

in that same era, i was told by numerous car audio shops that it was absolutely impossible to connect an ipod/ipad/computer directly to a car audio amp--the ONLY way to signal a car audio amp was a head unit. and then i would walk them outside and show them my pentium-powered carpc with full active processing rattling their windows.

it's just fun to see history repeat itself in such a short time frame.
