My manual has a stick, oh wait, you meant the book. Don't throw the book at him LOL.

Well it has been several years since I bought oil so it may have gone up. I haven't bothered checking since 2015 since it was always fine and I don't see any puddles on the ground. I read that the stuff they make now is good for 100,000 miles so I will need to get it changed in a month or so. I have saved at least $1,000 on oil changes by waiting 4 years.

I'm always amazed the things I learn on this board.

Ya, I figured my father was just telling me that so as I wouldn't be using "his" gas in "my" car. - :iono:

REALLY! That's why they invented oil filters. Just change the oil filter, rinse out the old one, let it drain and use it next time. Besides, oil doesn't "wear out" - it's a long chain hydrocarbon and a internal combustion engine cannot create enough heat nor pressure to "crack" it.

Reminds me of when I was 14 and had my own car, back on the farm, my Dad told me I couldn't put "tractor gas" (from our farm fuel tank) in my car because it would turn the carburetor red and the sheriff could tell I was using tax exempt farm gas in a car.

My dad said the same except he replaced the sheriff with himself. He did not want me taking his stolen gas.
On a related note, it did not stain the carb and unless you saw the fuel in quantity you would not know it was dyed.

Brings to mind the day that when both me and my younger brother both had cars back on the farm. I TOLD my brother, when he was sneaking gas, NEVER to use the LAST of the gas!

My father went to fill up a tractor one morning and the fuel tank was empty. He blew his top and went on a tirade and collected up the coil wires from my car, my brothers car, two motorcycles and the truck and held them hostage.

He said he would return them after we had arranged and paid for, the tank to be refilled.

Well, OK, I didn't need those new flipper hubcaps anyway … :(

Ok. As he would have put it "borrowed" gas. From the neighbouring farms. In the middle of the night. Never returned.

My kids use the term "borrow" the same way. "sure Son, when are you going to pay me back?"

Unless you are mixing in 100 oct with that 91, you are doing it wrong.

After seeing how much better the car ran I will only run e85 on track now. A lot cheaper then 4 gallons of 100 mixed in.

91 will damage my car running at the track?

I wouldn't beat on a car at the track with the bare MINIMUM required octane.
