Dude is just trying to justify his dumbass actions. He asked the question and doesn't like the answer so just stop answering and let him live on in happy disbelief.
It is clearly documented what is supposed to be used so there is no more info to be given anyway.

Show me a data log of you "Hitting 100+". Be sure to log knock retard.
I'll 100% be able to show you you're wrong.

use 93 here in the Caribbean. I would never user regular gas in my FR-S and even more when the gas door says "Premium Fuel ONLY".

I put regular in my tank once on a road trip. Been trying to get that "dirty" feeling to go away ever since. I even sent an apology note to my car when we got back. It sent me an engine code in return. "please change coil pack #1"

Premium non-ethanol only for my car. (Except the one time- I'm Sorry!)

Why are you getting your panties in a knot. All I asked was anyone else doing this and did you have any problems?

Why would I buy a data logger. I’m not trying to prove anything.

Bottom line is that unless you are logging, you have no idea. Even 91/92 knocks. The ECU is constantly bouncing off of knock and pulling timing because that's what it's designed to do. I've learned through discussions with local more experienced folks that the ECU quits pulling timing around 94 octane.

I've done some logging and have a gallon of toluene and a calculator. When I'm confident enough that I have my head wrapped around the data I'm capturing, I'll confirm that hearsay for myself. ...someday.

Still a pretty clear suggestion when they write "ONLY" in the sentence though, right?

My 91 is 7% corn juice.

Muskoka800 02-04-2019 06:54 PM

Ultra 94

Ultra94, PetroCanada (they took over Sunoco here)
My manual calls for 93 octane but says 91 is okay in a pinch.

When they tested in Wisconsin, they found 6 station with wrong fuel. How much you want to bet if they tested all gas stations they will find wrong gas in the storage tanks.
