2018 Recall for Head Unit Reprogram (BRZ, Legacy, Outback)
Just saw a notification in the MySubaru app. Looks like there might be an issue with the head unit not booting which will cause the backup camera to not display. The fix is a head unit reprogram. Has anyone here ever had theirs reprogrammed? I'm wondering how much time I'll have to commit to sitting at the dealership.

Doubt it's an actual recall but I haven't looked yet. Budget about 45-60 min for a head unit update.

The time it takes for a head job, depends upon your age - :iono:

Got my email too, I'll be calling tomorrow since I'm due for my first oil change as well. Here's hoping these guys know what they're doing.

I had my '18 updated today when I had the oil changed. I meant to look at the software version on my HU before the update so I could verify it changed. Totally forgot, but after the update it shows Version: Rel_U0.18.43.20
Didn't really notice any changes. I would like to know if that is the most current software version if anyone has that info. |
I have mine WiFi into my home network. every time it is in the garage it checks for an update. Has downloaded 2 automatically. Software version as of now is REL2-17-43-40. It states the SW is up to date. Is there another version the dealer can load?

I took my 2018 tS in for that recall and now I feel like my aspect ratio is a bit off only when using CarPlay. The image appears slightly squished horizontally. Starlink apps and stuff are not affected, just CarPlay.
Has anyone else noticed this in their car? |
