The first event planned is the SCCA Majors in Portland on May 18th. I may go to a Conference event on May 5th only because of how little value I got out of the TnT.

You mentioned in another post pulling the fuel pump fuse to crank the car for oil pressure. If you hold down the throttle pedal while cranking it shuts off the injectors. |
What size are those RE71Rs? I could be interested in buying them if you end up selling them.

It's done, now it's time to drive.
All the little things I needed to remedy are now remedied - pedals, alignment, new rotors, seat position and decals... All I have left to do now is play with it. Looks like life has got in the way of that for next few weeks so my 'real' test will actually be at the Majors weekend in PIR.
"It's the little things" - like the little roll-bar attachment from Ram-Mount used with the AIM Solo works great and I was able to put the solo is an optimal place. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...7c1e5473_z.jpgIMG_0663 by Rice Classic, on Flickr Finished product: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...ec8fa3ef_z.jpgIMG_0662 by Rice Classic, on Flickr |
Looks like a racecar now!

Any finished pics with wheels/tires mounted on the car?

The car looks great. I am looking forward to a report from your first T4 race. Will you be recording video?

I was able to find the time to get to a Conference race yesterday (not SCCA) because my friend and fellow racer was able to take my truck/trailer/car to the track for me while I was out of town (what a guy!). So this was my first competition event in the car after I just figured out the alignment. The class I was in was CT4, which is a Conference specific class that allows: SCCA T4 cars, PRO3 (e30s) and PRO44s (944s). It makes for a large class of similarly paced cars. I finished 2nd to last - but only 2 seconds separates 9 cars and that's VERY cool. Important items to note... Pacific Raceways had the back section re-paved making the track about 1 second faster for folks who can figure out the new lines. The previous track record in SCCA T4 is a 1:38 flat set by Oscar Jackson. I was able to click off a 1:37 flat and I'm still sorting out the car/driver setup. I think the car can do mid 35's but the driver will probably only see mid 36's. The video is being uploaded now to youtube - should have it posted later today, where you can watch me drive cautiously for 30 minutes. The T4 lap record at Pacific Raceways will be reset in 2 weeks at the SCCA Majors by someone - I'd like it to be me but I don't think that's in the cards. Nonetheless there are 6 T4 cars registered for that race and it's sure to be a terrific event. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...388f038b_z.jpgIMG_0710 (2) by Rice Classic, on Flickr |
Link to video when it is done uploading please?

The red/white e30 with no brake lights threw me off for a bit. I was like "how is he not using his brake there!?!"... then I realized.[ame]http://youtu.be/m4QYk46IJ-8[/ame] I'm not seeing the video as getting embedded on my computer so just in case that's happening to others, here's the link: https://youtu.be/m4QYk46IJ-8 |
:burnrubber:
I was going to come out this weekend even though HPDE got canceled but I got busy. I know it is not the fastest because how it upsets the car, but I love taking a bunch of curb at 5a :burnrubber: |

There's a Track Night in America on Friday night that you can attend if you want to get on track. https://www.tracknightinamerica.com/...ortland-may-17 Looks like registration is via SCCA instead of MSR. You and any other FT86 folks in Oregon are invited to stop by my (humble) motorhome, have a beverage and chat. I'm only coming down and setting up Friday evening but Totemo_Hayai will be doing the TNIA with his new T4 FRS which will be its maiden voyage in preparation for the race weekend. Sat/Sun are expected to be wet and dry which will make for some interesting racing. edit: After the Majors races in Seattle in a couple weekends, I'll post a final update on this thread and detail where the car is, where I need it to be and ultimately - what it cost to complete along with avg-per-weekend cost of operation. |
