Native Southern Californian here. hate the state, moving to one of those "gun loving fly over states where relatively few people live" because i am a 2A advocate who wants to live in a place where very few people live.

if you don't want to be bashed for liking what you like how about not bashing others because we want something different?
don't worry we are leaving and you can do with the state what you want:)

Those flyover states also got our president elected. Not so irrelevant are they? I live in California too but in a rural part, my town is changing and not in a good way. Also, the right to bear arms is what makes me proud af to be an American. There's new gun laws also for 2019, making the rest of the U.S. dislike California even more. Trust me I love Califrnia, lived here my whole life, but it's changing...

Not in a flyover State...or is FL?...but NY and CA shouldn't be making the decisions for the rest of the Country.
It's clear by the responses here that not everybody living there thinks that way either. Not to get too political here but that seems
it should be a wakeup call before everybody moves out and all you are left with is "Upper Mexico".

sprinkled here and there but 95% of motorcycles are the main cause of most of the noise pollution on roads. They should cut to the chase and just "tax"
motorcycles some bogus noise ordinance garbage thing that nets them the extra cash they are seeking and call it a day like they do with luxury tax on cars.

I don't think there is a new law. Just a bigger fine for breaking an existing one. People are freaking out because they are caught up in the hype.

Probably because we don't want to cough up 1k for owning an aftermarket catback exhaust, if it's actually being enforced.

haha. i am sorry about that. i hit submit and was like "dammit, now im a ****." it is funny to see people dumping their already illegal exhausts. id probably be more excited about it but i just bought a new header this weekend instead of buying one dirt cheap from someone who is all of a sudden afraid of a decade old law.

I'll share here as well (from Norcal but same laws)

The $202 fine is for CVC 27150. The $1100 is for CVC 27150.3

Just one officer's response though, so take it however you want. I trust the guy, been working with him and the department for 10 years. For the last 4 years I've had my exhaust, I've never had any issues, so I'm not worried.
Again, one officer, one jurisdiction.

Just for shits and giggles, we also talked a bit about loud music, since some people were bringing that up. There are similar laws that apply to that of which you can be fined and receive a point on your license.

Guns don't kill people, idiots with loud exhausts kill people.

Just look at the stats of how many people are killed every year because of the ability for any idiot to get a loud exhaust.

I think that the people that get loud exhausts are compensating for some inadequacy or psychological instability.
