Pre production pedal
 

As I'm trying to build a rep of the pre production pedal, I'd like to know if this was flush with brake pedal, or it was in the same position of the production part.
I think the only one can answer this question is @Moto-P

Any context on this? Photos?

Can't remember anything about it from the old stuff I've seen.

It was similar to cusco but looked much better. Wish someone camenout with it because i really wanted it.

Supposedly taiwanese gt86/brz also may have had it. I was not successful contacting @gtishtar though to find out ways to get it.

Gas pedal height doesn't change, same as same position as production pedal.

No, I do not. I know owners who owns it. Yes, owners. There are few owners that have it and sadly, cannot say who other than one is Moto-san.

But if you want something very close to it, Neoplot makes 80% same design pedal.

I know Neoplot pedal, but it's really not like the prototype. It differently shaped, differently angled, and it's made of aluminum instead of stainless steel, so most prone to scratching.

Well, stock pedal mostly is made of plastic that is just covered with metallic tin. As for different shape/angle/placement .. it actually is beneficial for heal & toe .. IF you ONLY replace pedal. Problems come only if one also uses pedal spacer (eg. SRP/Velox and alikes), then then neoplot+spacer summary changes are too much, with pedal too much closer to driver and too close to brake pedal, making it easy to mispress gas when pressing brakes and needing to bend feet too much due too high placement.

I woulr agree in a way. Initially i catching my shoe on the throttle when i braked with cusco. But i got used to it and did a lot of track tine with it without issue.

I still prefer to have the "heel toe pedal" than not

As I said, I just want to make a rep, I'm not interested in what is better (which is subjective...). In my opionion, i.e., pedal position is perfect, it just misses the removed surface.

In my experiments subjectively it was not. I needed to bend leg too sideways and too awkwardly which was tiring, usuable for blipping only during very heavy braking like on track, robbed precision from braking, often interfered with steering, when yet again i hit with knee steering column or hands on turned wheel. Pedals as stock are too wide apart to easily throttle blip with side of feet, gas pedal is both too wide apart, too short and too above brake pedal to press it easily with heel without brake pedal pressed almost all way down and without turning feet almost horizontally. Can one H&T with stock pedals? Absolutely. Can it be done with ease & comfort on twins stock? I hated that :/
In general - people often do mods to increase comfort/enhance ergonomics. Pedals are one of areas that also can be improved, so that driver can dedicate more attention to just driving instead of fighting with controls. Even if it's not performance mod, but due no need to fight with awkward controls driving can be made more confidence inspiring, faster, less tiring. People install more comfortable for specific use seats, steering wheel, change shifters. Well positioned and spaced pedals also are part of it, if it's not so stock.

I just found this question from 2 years ago. But I guess it is better answered than not.

This is the pre-production throttle pedal which got changed late in the development stage due to concerns for customers double pressing the pedal or mistakenly pressing wrong pedal. Silly I know but there was a product planner meeting I guess, with some people who were really scared of recent Toyota "Sudden Acceleration" issues (later proved to be bogus but a big attack by media blowing up a attempted class action, and lawsuit) and also the Lexus floor mat thing in recent years of the time.

Anyway the result is the current pedal without the lip on the bottom.
One of those circumstance which was unfortunate when big companies are under attack. I guess.
