I have the valve spring recall information.
Information is out to the dealers. Letters should be coming to customers at the end of December. Different part numbers for automatics and manuals. Fluids changed will be the oil, coolant, and R134. Obviously. Figure a day and a half for repairs.

So what is the TSB for the spring change? Standard service manual change or time reduced shortcut change?
|
Yeah man spill some details.

BEANS! Wee need da BEANZ!

Oil, coolant, and A/C? I'm guessing the motor needs to come out, then?

Here's some media coverage from earlier this year.

I just changed my oil so I guess I'll bring it in around the time of my next change is due.

I heard some SPECULATION from a Subaru service writer. A lot of the techs and writers seem to think Subaru will replace the heads with heads that are pre-loaded with the new valve springs to save time and ease the install.
Again this is the opinion of one Subaru writer and a few techs. It seems plausible but I argue that the cost of new heads may outweigh the time of just replacing the valve springs. Crazier things have happened. |

Is there an updated list of VIN number ranges? |
