MD emissions

For those of you on a tune...

Was thinking about adding some headers and a catted FP. A tuner told me that they disable the front cat code with the header, but it will not report the monitor as ready

Does anyone know how that will affect MD obd2 tests, and if the car will pass? Is it an issue if the car reports "not ready" for two tests in a row (one now, and again in two years)?

I am pretty sure that no state will do an emissions test if the sensors are muted or register not ready so it’s an automatic fail. I had this issue this year too but I’m from va.

So what do all the MD people do that have aftermarket headers and tunes?

Go get tested. Passed mine a few months ago with catless UEL header and tune (and flex fuel, supercharger, big injectors, etc.)
