P0021 OBD-II Trouble Code: Camshaft Position A - Timing Over-Advanced

So I got this code on my BRZ and I've replaced the OCV with a genuine one from Subaru. I've also done an oil change after the light came on so I know that its not the oil's fault on why this code is popping up. And there's also a knocking noise coming from the same side of the block. I'm pretty sure that they are both related but then again I could be totally wrong. I've also tried to clear the code multiple times but it'll come back on the third time I start it after clearing. I've been stuck on this issue for over a month now. Will I have to rebuild the block or is it still safe? Any info would help.

Is the motor stock?

has a cold air intake and aluminum crankshaft pulley. UEL catless headers

When you cleared the code, did you do it by disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery for a spell?

What weight oil are you using?

Are the electrical connections clean and tight?

No I didn't but I'll try that.

I was using 0W-20 until my last oil change and now I use 5W-20

I'm pretty sure they are. I've followed them as far down as I could from just on top of the engine bay
