Winter car washes in Portland?
It's getting so damn cold I'll probably lose a hand washing my car in this weather. Where do you guys go for a decent winter car wash? Are there any good touchless options?
I've gone to those DIY stations and they work OK, but if I can stay inside my car I would prefer that. I also don't mind have an issue using my own wax after the wash either as I'm sure what I have is much better than the one that comes with the wash. |
Wish I would have seen this sooner! I go to a touchless, brushless automated car wash in Gladstone, right off of 205 next to Gladsone Safeway, High Rocks bar, close to Latus Motors Harley Davidson. Its buried back there so its easy to miss. It also has 4 self-serve hand wash stalls, which i sometimes use just for 2 minutes to get the car soaked and soaped....but its not nessessary at all. The automatic touchless wash there is great. Just feed money or swipe your card at the pay station, select your wash, and drive in on cue.

Wow, talk about niche. I might swing by there on my drive home tonight just to check it out, do they run late? I see nothing online about them in Google Maps and the yelp reviews are scathing.

https://goo.gl/maps/hwRvVk2TrMJ2 Im just looking for a quick touchless wash, I can do all the detailing on my own at home. |
Doesnt look like the one on Division has an automatic touchless machine though

I just went through the one on 112th and Division. Definitely touchless. It did an okay job, but I think I'm going to try Meguair's waterless car wash this weekend to touch it up even more. I'll let you know!

Update. I dont use the automated touchless anymore. Just the self serve hand wash stall. I can get it done for 4 bucks.
