Greddy Profec Boost Controller

Is anyone running the Profec Boost Controller? I am looking for a review or recommendation before I commit to buying one. http://www.greddy.com/products/electronics/profec/

I ran one on my S15 in Japan, no complaints!

Had the profec B spec on a 3000gt. Was a great boost controller.

Depends if your tuner can tune with it. It doesn't have the inputs needed for plug and play to our cars. I only use my PROFEC for the Boost display now and run the Delicious tuning boost controller for tuning. .

If your running ecutek tuning on 86\brz you dont need boost controller Just the boost solenoid\mac valve, all the control can be done in the standard ecu with the ecutek software. Eg boost per gear per rpm overboost control , boost reduction on knock and more, no need for external boost control electronics

I’ve been running it since June 2016 and it’s great!

I have my car EcuTek tuned with 3 modes on Profec:
1. Profec OFF = 8psi wastegate tuned from Shell 91-E73
2. Profec LOW BOOST = 12psi tuned from Shell 91-E73
3. Profec HIGH BOOST = 18psi tuned for E73

I sometimes dial down HIGH BOOST to 16psi

How do you connect the profec to the ecutek tune? I guess custom maps are in use in your case, but how do you give the input with the profec?

The Profec is technically independent of Ecutek, so basically I have the car tuned for Shell 91 up to 12psi and E73 up to 18psi where I use Profec to set the psi and fine tune gain and etc. Once it’s tuned I then have 3 presets on Profec.

I like Profec cause I can on the fly switch presets for more boost anytime. Like I can cruise with it off getting 8psi on E73 then press high and get 18psi on E73.

Just make sure you have a tuner who’s familiar with both EcuTek and Profec.

Pretty sure HRI will be doing an E tune for me. I don't know their experience with the Profec boost controller though
