Exhaust help!

So I recently purchased UEL headers along with overpipe. I already have an invidia N1 catback. So I want to know is it worth it to get a invidia resonated catless front pipe? Will it smell a ton? Will it be crazy loud? I don’t really care about sound that much as in loud, but I don’t want it to smell like crazy inside the cabin or outside really. Don’t want to make other drivers annoyed by my exhaust fumes.
Any input helps, thanks guys!

Keep a high flow cat then. Still smelly at startup mind...

If you remove both cats it will smell both inside and outside of the car. Last week I was stuck under an overpass behind a WRX that was obviously catless. After the third light change and we still didn't get to turn I was almost chocking on his fumes and cursing him out in my head.
For this reason I do not miss the old days of the pre emission controlled cars at all.

Assuming it’s more expensive for a high flow cat

Jcas 11-26-2018 11:59 AM

Fair enough hahah I wouldn’t want to do that to other drivers

I want to second Tcoat. If you're stuck in traffic and have to use your defroster, you're going to suffocate (ask me how I know). Naturally Aspirated, I see very little difference before/after with a tune in power made, a whole lot of difference in sound produced and the catless stink. I like the smell, but it's definitely toxic and your passengers are going to think your car is a heap of trash.

Get a high flow cat unless you're running forced induction.

Gains are minimal going to a catless front pipe while NA even with a tune.

Gains are more noticeable when going catless with boost.

Who gives a crap about what other people smell, you don't know them in real life. Let them choke lol. I do that every day to random strangers, completely catless straight pipe, except with me, i give them a sweet taste of corn too. Lolololololololol

Personally I’m catless. I noticed the smell at first. Idk if it was a newer tune revision or I just got used to it maybe both? But I don’t notice the smell at all anymore. Maybe with windows down stopped with wind blowing it forward. Very rare scenario for me though. If someone got in my car they would have no idea I had no cats. And if they didn’t notice the different exhaust sound they’d think I was stock. Maybe think I have a catback when really on it.

With 92octane btw.

If you can run E85 the smell isnt that bad. Gasoline, man I forgot how bad it was...

Jcas 11-26-2018 11:30 PM

Interesting thank you for the input!

Jcas 11-26-2018 11:31 PM

Sadly not many E85 stations here in NJ tho :(

Jcas 11-26-2018 11:31 PM

I mean, your not wrong I might have to send it :)

Honestly, I doubt you'd see a notable power difference with the stock frontpipe vs a test pipe.. With a UEL header.
