Ok, it's finally cold. Winter prep checklist...
My TPMS lights just came on.
My tires were at 28 psi. I topped off to 35 psi and the light is gone. Time to put your tire pressures to 35! I also noticed some loud rubbing on the door window glass. Cold is making the window snag on the weatherstrip. What is the accepted solution? For now, I applied a coat of lithium grease to the rubber weatherstripping. The rubbing noise is gone for now. I am going to jack up the car and spray some Fluid Film on most exposed nuts and bolts At some point down the road, working on a less rusty car will be appreciated. What else do you do for winter prep? |
Fluid film is effective.
Winter prep I do... I change to winter studded tires. Check my anti-freeze condition. Put a snow brush in the car. |

Ha! My winter prep is no more shorts, time for jeans. And a sweater.
Sorry California winter joke. But seriously early morning icy windshields are a slight pain. |
check electrolyte levels in battery.

Do you have a battery that was made in 1960 ?

Electrolytes are what the battery crave. |
Swap to winter tires. Quick visual inspection of suspension and brakes during the swap. Check all fluids. Done.
