Sprintex 210, E85 and ACE 350?
Been thinking of going the FI route this winter, not sure what kit to go with, but I am looking at maybe a used Sprintex 210.
To cut the story short - would a 210, on straight E85 with a ACE Alpha header and overpipe, be able to make 300 whp? That's my "goal" at least. Don't want more, 300 whp is unsafe at it is, but I also like to be over the 299-mark, for... reasons. |
From what I’ve seen/read if you ran that setup with the 69mm pulley on the intercooled kit. Maybe with a custom cai setup instead of factory box. You should be 290-310whp depending on the dyno.

I am actually thinking about going the same route, S5 Sprintex Supercharger (intercooled) except we dont have E85 gas stations in Canada so thats out of the equation. My goal is around 270whp maybe 250wtq, Im keeping the motor stock. I already have a Tomei UEL header and full exhaust. Does anyone know the dyno numbers on the S5 210 Sprintex SC with full exhaust? (without E85)

But roughly on a intercooled setup with header back you should expect the following. W/O header back probably subtract 3-5% 91octane + 75mm pulley 230-235whp w/ meth 245-250whp 92octane + 75mm pulley 235-240whp w/ meth 250-255whp 93octane + 75mm pulley 240-245whp w/ meth 255-260whp E85 + 75mm pulley 270-275whp 69mm pulley should add about 10% more but can only be used on 93+Octane, E85, or with meth Intercooled + header back + E85 + 69mm pulley gets you right at 300whp about the most you should expect from this kit Keep in mind this kit isn’t necessarily about a peak hp number. Its got solid power across the whole powerband unlike a lot of kits that slowly build up power to eventually have a higher peak number. |
69s power band is low, kinda peaks around 5k then loses efficiency. I suggest 72.5 if you can find one.
Power band is good up till around 7k and stacks nicely on your NA power curve. You'll find with the solid torque line that 280hp is plenty enough. Make sure you keep the stock MAF sensor. You'll need it. |
Here is my car, tuned NA to 75mm and then 75mm to 70mm on 99 RON. Only exhaust mod when going boost was a decat (cut and weld) OEM manifold @riboyster is correct that the Sprintex does lose effiiency at the top end. E85 should help a little with the heat etc. Perhaps the newer Plus, or whatever it's called, is better in that regard. I don't think exhaust flow is going to help much. I've always thought a good 4-1 would be the best choice to try and help at the top as most of the 4-2-1s are going to bump up the midrange, which is already quite strong. On 93 I would expect the limitation to be around 250-260whp on the charts below, it's around the best I've seen. E85 probably could push the magic 300, we don't get it here.

I have absolutely no idea on what power my car makes (because firstly, who cares, and secondly, just find a “lenient dyno” and it’ll make “more power”).
But... I have the 210 SPS kit with flexfuel and slightly unequal length headers. Also the smaller pulley cos I’m high above sea level and we loss around 15% or so here already. Love it. Flexfuel before the SC made a difference, but now with boost it’s even better. Make sure you have a good install and crucially a GREAT tune! |

If you want 300whp, and a positive displacement supercharger, why aren't you looking at the edelbrock (or harrop since you're in Europe) kit?

I can get a used Sprintex for a looot cheaper than an Edelbrock, and I don't think I've ever seen a Harrop kit for sale, at least not used.. When I started the thread I had found a well-priced 210, so that's why I was curious :) |

I'd be EXTREMELY cautious of a used supercharger unless you know the previous owner and history very well. You could be buying something that's almost, or already, shot and in for an expensive rebuild/replacement. |
