Alignment Shop in SD and quick question question
I just recently installed Tein Coilovers and SPC camber bolts on my car as well as brand new wheels and tires. First off, does anyone know any good alignment shop local to San Diego (Not in San Marcos/Escondido) that are willing to do custom alignments? I'm looking to get around -2 to -2.5 Camber in the front and 0 toe all around. Would appreciate if you guys could also include their price.
Second thing, I believe most these shops that do custom alignments require an appointment so is it fine to drive my car for like a week or two without getting it aligned? Thanks in advance! |
90% of any tire shop that has a computerized alignment rig can do it.
The 10% don't want to because it's too much work. They rather live by this motto "toe in, toe out". Meaning they only adjust one thing then move on to the next car. If you don't get a quick reply by any local members, use that little google-fu you know, list any top five shops that look good to you and give them a call/look at their web site. But I'll just call. You'll get better luck, more info and even maybe a lower price. |
TrueLine or Clarence Brown are the 2 places I was told in San Diego, I usually go to conover tires in oceanside, but again you specified san diego.
Google some places if anything |
Clarence Brown is well known in san diego and they do a good job. i got an alignment done recently at DualTone in PB that was custom. my car is lowered on springs with front camber bolts and i just asked for maxed out front camber and as close to zero toe all around as possible. turned out well for only $80. they did a good job on my volvo too in the past.

as far as running on the alignment as is it does kind of depend on how off it is. if it looks straight to the eye then you likely wont run into anything as far as dangerous driving issues. maybe dont do anything crazy however lol.
toe plates are $50 and you can check camber with a nice straight piece of square tube and an angle finder. it will at least make sure you're in the ballpark and it's good to know how to make adjustments on your own if you plan on tracking the car:) |
Check out D&E alignment in Escondido. Very knowledgeable guys.
