lowered, scraping on bumps
Hey guys,
2013 frs with ISC coils, under 1 in lowered. Coils are on somewhat soft setting. I got 225/40/18 on 18x8 +45 rims. I'm hearing rubbing or scraping on bumps. I think the tires are rubbing the top of the fender liner on bumps. My suspension already pretty stiff, a little bouncy in fact. I still have at least 1 or 2 finger gap between wheel and fender. Do all the lowered guys just deal with the occasional rubbing or scarping when going over bumps. or is there a magic fix? Thanks. |

PICS? What do you mean your wheels are scraping on bumps? With those specs, your wheels should not rub. Your bumper may be scraping or somewhere under your car. |
That's what I'm wondering, "wheels scraping on bumps"? Do you mean the car is scraping the road while your going over bumps or your tires are rubbing on the car?
Scraping is used for car meeting road/bumps. Rubbing is used for tires meeting fender and/or fender liners. I am lowered about 2" and I will scrap on the occasional speed bump if I am not careful or a parking garage transition, but scraping is pretty rare. As far rubbing I have none. Other then height my coilovers are set pretty comfortable, maybe a little bit stiffer then stock, and preload is set to a recommend street setup, nothing fancy. |
wheels are scraping on bumps? are you going over speedbumps fast as fuck or something? either you too low for your own good or you're trying to overcome physics...

A "bouncy" ride means you need to dial the coils in to be stiffer. You need less travel.
