I wonder if the FR-S will come with heated side mirrors or not. It's not really necessary, but I'm curious since the touring 370z has it.

I didn't mean the mirror, I meant the housing, which appears to be designed very far inward.

The problem with this is that typically the mirror won't extend out further than the housing...

I wouldn't be so sure, that looks like the intended as designed position to me.
I agree with you OP, a lot of newer cars do seem to have to narrow of mirror angles, my rule of thumb when setting up my mirrors in any car is move it in until you just see the back of the car, then move it out a bit. No blind spots for me, although I still do the shoulder check.

oh!! my bad. yeah i only did a quick glance when i saw the mirror. i thought the mirror was just positioned wrong... but yeah i see what u mean.. hopefully its one of those mirrors that can fold in, and he just forgot to position it back to normal lol.. if not. thats a major flaw

I set my mirrors up properly...rear view points directly out the back window, and side mirrors and one or two degrees beyond being able to see the sides of my vehicle.

I also always make a $4 purchase when I get a new car. At $2 dollars per side, the little mini stick-on convex mirrors do a great job of giving a 100% field of view out the sides of my car. Just buy a pair at any department store. When it comes time to sell, they pull off with a hair dryer, and goo-gone removes the residue no problem.
