P2419 CEL code - what to do?
Hi everyone,
I have a first year FRS with about 90k miles on it. A short while ago, I had the CEL come on (along with the traction control light) when I hit a bumpy part of road. Torque found one code - P2419 - Powertrain. Evaporative Emission System Switching Valve Control Circuit Low. I reset it, it stayed off for a few weeks, but came on again (I drive dirt roads and some of the paved ones are terrible, and this seems to happen more when I am on bumpy surfaces, but I might be making that up). Anyway, I reset but now it is coming back on every 2-3 days. So maybe there really is a problem... :D Car seems to drive fine, don't notice any difference. The traction control light comes on and off as I drive around, CEL stays on. Any ideas? I'm hoping it's just a loose wiring harness somewhere, but I don't know where to look - don't know where the EVAP system pump/sensor/valves are located. I'm out of warranty so I'd like to take a crack at it myself if reasonably possible. Thanks! |
