You are missing part of the intake, was yhe car wrecked? Mine broke from a minor front end hit. That or the previous owner likely had an aftermarket intake.

Air Inlet Duct - Subaru (46012CA000)

Air Cleaner Body - Subaru (46059CA000)

I'd take the bumper off and looks

I know that the car was in a minor parking accident and the front bumper was repainted. Going to the dealer to order a new one.. thanks for the reply!

Edit: is it dumb to drive like that?

Also plug the flange for the sound tube, you can get a rubber cap from a auto shop for a couple of bucks.

I've heard about that! What's the pros about that? :)

The pic is missing a sound generator tube, its useless and a gimmick.

The issue with it being removed is that it leaves a hole in the airbox, that hole will suck in hot air from under the bonnet, thus to a point adding to higher intake temps, this is bad.

As you are missing the snorkel to it seems, this will also suck hot air to a point.

Google:
1.Toyota 86 sound tube delete
2. Toyota 86 Snorkel mod

Both these searches will give you a better idea of the parts.

The rubber plug is a easy fix, a plug and a cable tie will fix that.

The missing snorkel may be found at a breakers yard, cost is ????, or you can easily fabricate something, it really only needs to be a couple of inches long, that will put the intake just inside the front bumper, and get the intake cleaner, read: not under bonnet, air.

And...... .Google

Is the foam gasket between the air box and bumper there?

Sorry but I have to intervene before anymore misinformation comes into this guy's thread.

He is NOT missing the sound generator tube. He is missing one of the resonators in the intake system.

I've attached a picture and the item circled in red is the sound generator tube and the item in green is the resonator he's missing.

Thanks for all of the replys! I went to the local junkyard and found the Air Cleaner Duckt for 45 bucks! Going to install it tomorrow and Also make my own ”tube” so the engine wont suck in hot air.
Got this https://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-2013-20...-/202284404124

Yes it seems like the foam gasket is still there :)

Yeap, my mistake, I really should wear my glasses more.

Same cheap fix though.

Does that resonator serve any purpose? If it was gone would it matter?

I believe Mishimoto saw better results with it on when testing their inlet tube.

Yes it resonates.
