400hp fa20
Hey guys and girls im after some advice and info on making a build fa20 is it possible to keep the stock crank for that and do i have to use sleeves on the block for only 400hp? Will keep capacity stock
|
400 crank hp? The stock engine can do that with FI and ethanol.
|
Na not at crank 400whp and i need something reliable

In that case, I recommend chatting with your chosen engine builder and using the components they prefer, as their experience will trump anything on the internet.

IMO.... 400hp at the wheels Reliable to drive. FA20 Choose two. (hint don't choose the FA20) http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131111 |

Why 400? Why not 300, or 600?

i'm boosted at 405whp on 10psi e85. Over 2.5 years, 20xxx miles, multiple track events and driven daily. Its all about the tune, components used, and some luck. Mind you I also have all supporting mods such as bigger radiator and fans, vented hood, oil cooler, and running 5W-30. Just don't beat on the car everyday.

Simple. Sell car buy STI and mod it a bit.

I know some people have done a closed deck block, and I think I can recall someone doing sleeves, but for 400whp, a built bottom end is enough for reliability, but that is all for nothing without a good tune on this platform, so it is all about where to put your money to maximize the benefits, considering of course that 400whp might be achievable and reliable for the engine, but not necessarily the rest of the drivetrain. Typically going 2.5x the stock hp will be volitile.
CSG Mike said it best, to check with a reputable builder. |
