Alternatives to the TRD exhaust

This question has been asked a few times on this forum, but never satisfactorily answered, likely due to the subjective nature. I figured I would try once again in the hopes of getting some opinion-based feedback: does anyone have a good recommendation for an exhaust alternative to the TRD?

Having driven an FRS with the TRD exhaust, I absolutely love the sound - very bassy and doesn't drone. I want to upgrade the exhaust on my car, but it is such a huge crapshoot guessing at which exhaust to get. The TRD is around $1000 with no HP gain from what I can see. That makes is considerably more expensive than a Magnaflow, Borla, or other big name alternative. If there is a solid alternative, similar bass notes, no droning, at a better value, I would like to consider it. Catback or just muffler (more concerned with sound than HP). Suggestions on exhaust or what to look for in an exhaust?

Why not used? You can find them for $300-400 usually

Just remove the resonators for the TRD. Adds a little more high end pitch and removes the most restrictive part of the TRD exhaust.

There are lots of alternative exhaust systems. Just do some research to find what you like the best. Corsa, csg, etc etc.

I somehow got a trd muffler and tips and had a shop make stainless mandrel bent exhaust in 2.5 inch using an SLP resonator. All of the good parts of the trd exhaust with none of the drawbacks.

Used works for me. I did quite a bit of looking in my area (Phoenix) and didn't find any for sale. The only one I found on eBay was $650. I'll keep an eye out.

Problem is I can't try before I by. I don't want something annoyingly loud or droning. I made that mistake on one of my previous cars. I was hoping someone had a suggestion for a setup they really liked.

That's a good idea if I can find the muffler. Total cost?

I have a dealer installed Borla axleback exhaust that has a nice deep sound that doesn't drone. From what I have heard of the TRD exhaust they sound similar. I personally like the tips better too.

Corsa or magnaflow, csg touring.... they're all basically what you describe wanting.

Total cost for my project was around 475. I had never seen just a trd muffler for sale though before.... all I really wanted was the tips, but it worked out.
