TSW Wheels Shitty?

Are TSW wheels low quality? Are they as bad as ROTA wheels?
I like the look of these.

TWS is a step above rota for sure. I would say they are on par with enkie tuner wheels. Not as good as rpf1 or their other highend wheels but still pretty good.

I have the Interlagos on my C5 you can see in sig for about 3 years. Rotary forged they were light for the size too. Interested in the weight of those Bathhurst 17x8 +35

I wanted the bathurst too, but didn't like that the face is machined. The design is nice, but the color option is meh.

What did you end up going with?

I still have the set of 17x8 et45 Nurburgring wheels from my WRX. Never had an issues in the 2+ years I ran them.

These at least are +35 8" wheels. 17, 18, 19. Wish they came in 17x9 & 18x9. I'd get 18x9. but no, so I have Konig Oversteers.

I had tsw nurburgrings on my GTI (3 yrs) and my FRS (2 yrs). Tracked both, daily drove both, never had any issues. Solid wheels. I traded the set on my FRS for Apex ARC-8 wheels and I'd say the quality is on par if not better even.

mike_ekim1024 11-01-2018 08:41 PM

The rotary forged wheels are decent. I have 18x8 Nurburgrings for about 4 years now, no issues, even hitting some pretty hard pot holes on the freeway.

rota titan 17x8 +45, in the tungsten dark chrome color with STi center caps.
Looks factory...very similar to the 2016 sti wheels color.

Ive got the Bathurst's on my car. Cant remember the weight. I hit a pothole a few months ago that blistered both driver side tires, wheels are still flawless. The worst they had from that was a black mark where the tires hit the lip of the barrel on the wheel. I've only had them on for one track day. Rotary forge is ok, sure its no volk or rpf1, but i can live with these as a good "middle of the pack" wheel I wrapped them with Dunlop Direzza Star Specs post-pothole

But a TSW "Nurburgring" or "Mallory 5" (I like) 18X8 ET45 is 34lbs while every other wheel at this price point is less than 20-25lbs why?
Huge weight difference for same dimension wheel, a tS 18X7.5 ET45 made by Enkei is less than 20lbs...

This is a quote from TSW website

The Bathurst wheel from TSW is the latest in our line of wheels that employ exotic rotary forgingŪ manufacturing technology. Rotary forgingŪ produces wheels that are uncommonly lightweight. That’s because the manufacturing process alters the molecular structure of the aluminum alloy in a way that increases its strength. That strength allows TSW engineers to reduce the thickness of the outer barrel, reducing rotational mass. Even the largest Bathurst size, 20x10.5, weighs less than 25 lbs.

Amazon has the item listed at 19lbs, but take that with a huge grain of salt. Im about to take mine off for the winter and put my oe wheels with blizzaks back on, ill get some weights when i do that
