Anyone else having trouble finding an alignment place?
I hate drag city usa San Antonio everyone is into drag racing and has their heads up their asses when it comes to suspension. I installed front vorshlag camber plates and rear cusco adjsutable camber arms and every single place i have been in (Dealership, NTB, Firestone, Alignment pros, etc) have told me they cant touch the car because they had no idea what a camber plate was or that the car was so new they could not put it in their computer. Where is everybody taking their car to get alignment? My closest suspension specialist is a bit of a drive since he is at the track, and as of right now my cars alignment is horrible id be afraid to drive 50+ miles to get it aligned prob ruin my tires. Its unbelievable no one wants to touch the car. :(
Sorry had to vent |
I went to my usual shop and explained what the camber plate does and gave them this as a baseline:

there's got to be some oldschool alignment type peeps in your area. Here in San Diego we have a few...they don't use computers for anything, and you can walk in and just tell them what sort of numbers you want and they give it a go.

I hate getting alignments, that is a big reason I want to keep the stock suspension lol
My last car was lowered with adjustable arms and I had to go to 4 shops before I found one that knew WTF they were doing. Search around boards of places that autocross, track, etc they will know where to go. I found a place that would align the car to whatever spec you wanted and knew how to work with all types of aftermarket alignment parts and suspension, corner weighting, etc. They charge 150 but I think worth it to avoid headaches and wasted money elsewhere. |
I'd recommend getting involved with your local auto-x region. They'll be able to point you in the right direction.
