Help me get E85 in Santa Rosa

I have Flex Fuel through DT. I commute to Vacaville for school from Santa Rosa, so I can get E85 on the way. The closest location on my E85 finder is in Napa. Is anyone interested in trying to do a petition or something to get E85 in SR?

It allowed me to link Chevron, Shell and Valero, but that is just through the website. If I get enough signatures then I'll show a few more local businesses.

It might be beneficial to link show the distributors as well (Pearson, Propel, Sunoco, etc).

Yes! I live in Healdsburg, but work in Santa Rosa. The only reason I jabent gone to E85 is because there isnt any here.

Have you tried sharing this on the local FB groups (NorCal, Sac86)?

No because I don’t have FB. I was thinking of getting on the Mustang, Camaro, Vette, etc forums too. I’m going to also try to reach out to the owners of the stations.

E85 is awesome. I’m going to cry if Santa Rosa doesn’t get something by next year because I won’t be commuting to Vacaville by then.

I emailed Flyers, who has a station in the area, and who has an E85 plant, but I had no reply.

I emailed Pearson’s who supplies E85 to the pumps I use out of area. I got two emails:

Quote:

Hi Justin,

Thank you for taking the time to email us.
Unfortunately, there aren't any contracted sites in Santa Rosa, that is not to say that our development team is not working on opening one in the area.
I will personally submit your request to the department and make an announcement if and when a site is available in the area.
Once again, thank you and have a great day!

Julie

Hi Justin,

Thanks for your email. We are working on the Santa Rosa area, but we have yet to find a station owner willing to move forward. For some reason, we haven't been able to get traction in the area, but we are re-focusing our efforts on northern CA so we'll hopefully have something very soon. We appreciate your business and please feel free to contact me anytime.

Thanks,

Greg
I appreciate that they replied to my inquiry. Hopefully things will change. Maybe the petition will be the catalyst.

The fact we have e85 in Napa still blows me away, and it's only two gas stations lol. Good luck!

Yea, it is odd. I don't know if it has anything to do with Napa being close to Sonoma Raceway, or just closer to Pearson's other stations along HWY 80.

I doubt it has anything to do with Sears Point since there are 3 cities closer to the point than Napa

Maybe try petitioning them for a station in Healdsburg. There are some small independent stations up here.

One night while filling up on E85 at the Napa station there were two guys there with a pickup filling up containers of E85 as they were at an event at the Point with their GTR, and they couldn't source fuel anywhere else.

They complimented me on my ride.

Just an update. I have continued to email companies in the area. No confirmations yet on a pump going in, but I will keep working.

Irace86.2.0 04-11-2019 01:33 PM

My temp solution is to store some E85. I have six 5-gallon gas cans that will fit in the trunk perfectly like crazy tight perfectly. I will fill up in Napa, which is a 25 mile drive then have 30 gallons until the next fill up. I only drive about 5-10 miles a day average, so that is 150-300 miles a month, which is 10-15 gallons a month roughly, so that should be good for three months, roughly. I can always top up when I travel out of the area too. This will have to work until I get a closer pump.

Big Update!

I just randomly checked Pearson’s app. There will be an E85 pump going into a gas station off of Todd Rd and 101! I just called to confirm, and the guy said sometime by early next year it’ll get installed and approved. This is great news.

We had the same hope in Stockton. The date kept being pushed back and now is no longer happening. Hope yours works out

That’s a bummer. I wonder why. Apparently this owner keeps getting calls and people stopping in the store ever since he put up a sign that E85 was coming, so hopefully that is an incentive. I plan to buy other stuff when I fill up to support the store.

Irace86.2.0 05-20-2021 04:27 PM

There are three new E85 stations added around Clear Lake where my brother lives, and there are three pending stations in the area around Santa Rosa. One in Santa Rosa, one in Petaluma and one in Healdsburg. Many more have been added.

On another note: I have 30 gallons of E85 if someone wants to buy it off me. I will be doing a K24 swap, and I don't need it immediately. I can just top off your car if you can take it, or you can buy the jugs and fuel, or we can fill up your jugs if you bring some. Whatever works, and we can figure out a fair price. This is in Santa Rosa.

Irace86.2.0 05-28-2021 04:51 PM

Petaluma E85 station is now open! Hopefully the Santa Rosa station and Healdsburg station comes online soon.
