Look at what the auction did to my poor baby :'(

So I found a perfect 2013 FRS on a car auction. Don't ask how it got to auction, I have no idea, but it was clean title with hail. I checked the pictures over a billion times, no damage. Ended up winning the auction, 2013 FRS, hot lava with 31000 miles. Take a lookhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...9df9cf423e.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...32a73e2cfe.jpg

It was in Detroit and I'm in NY, so I got a towing company to bring it here. Go to pick it up yesterday, and this is what I see. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...eabc39da78.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...1942306bf1.jpg
At the auction, they use forklifts to get the cars onto the trailers. Also, the drivers just don't give a crap about the cars, and since mine was low compared to other cars, the driver ended up hitting it with the forks. I asked the towing company for pictures before it was loaded onto their truck at the auction, and you could see the dents and the giant forklift in the back hahaha. Anyways, the car runs amazing, it's my first manual and I love it. Planning to keep it NA, as I need it for my years through college, but even with only 200 horsies it's still a lot for me to tame. Overall, even despite the damage, which I'll just heat gun and push out, I'm loving the car and the manual tranny especially. Much better than automatic.

That's horrible, man, but I'm glad you're able to get past it and simply enjoy the car. Welcome!

Thank you! Considering the deal I got and the fact that it's really good mechanically I'm not going to let that ruin the car for me. First things first is getting a backup cam in my rear view mirror, I can't see anything!

luckily for you enough people slide these things backwards into curbs that you'll probably be able to get a painted bumper cheap if you need to.

I'm thinking of getting a new one and just selling this one after fixing the dents

Forklift? WTF? I would check for damage under the car from the forks.

Yeah that's copart for you ahahaha. That's actually a good idea, I hope this is all. Sometimes they miss and go straight thru your radiator or mess up your undercarriage :/

Make them pay for a new bumper? Clearly when you bought it the damage wasn't there. And you have proof.

Bend it back as well as you can and slap a cheap Ebay lip on it to cover the worst part. Not like it will rust.

This... the bumper is cosmetic only. I would be concerned with mechanical and structural damage underneath....

Looks more like damage from the towing chains pulling it onto a tow truck. They hook it around the control arms and drag it up the truck. When it gets close to the ramp the chains come up higher off the ground. Fork lift guys at yards usually come from the side.

Maybe the towing company finessed us but they had pictures before it was on the truck with the dents already there.

Agree with all points. To pick a car up from the front with a forklift means it would have to have about 10 foot long forks. The leverage alone would be incredible and it would have to be huge.
