Seeking lowered 86 with stock wheels
 

OK, I need to find out how many millimeters the top of the front and rear wheels sink in when the car gets lowered so I can improve the flush wheel chart that will go on the Wheel Directory.

The topic started HERE where we determined what wheel widths and offsets would fit perfectly flush on our cars. Now we need to create a graph that shows how lowering your car will affect flushness at the top center of the front and rear wheel.

If you have a lowered BRZ/FR-S with stock wheels, can you hang a ruler straight down from the fender (with the car on a level surface) and then use another ruler or tape measure to determine the distance from the top center of the wheel rim to the hanging ruler? Then post up how far your car is lowered and what the distance in millimeters is.

The stock height distance should be 23mm on the front and 30mm in the rear. Thanks!

Man, I gotta do this all myself or what? Pulled off my Rotas tonight and remounted my stocks. In the morning I will measure the distance with my 1" Eibach lowered car.

It would be great if more people could contribute measurements so we'd have an extremely useful collection of references for all available suspensions. It would clear doubts many may have about fitment before making that big purchase on wheels or suspension.

I tried to measure today, but my car was on uneven ground and measurements from side to side were off. Then I forgot to re-measure and installed my D2 coilovers... which have camber plates so I can't compare that to springs. Oops.

Oh well, my Eibachs are for sale and when I install them on a car I will take measurements.

Will lower soon and will definitely contribute, keep it coming!

I just found the piece of paper that I jotted notes onto...

Lowered 1" it looks like the front wheel had 25mm at TDC and the rear was 35mm.

That is a 2mm increase at the front and a 5mm increase at the rear.

I sure would like someone else to confirm this, though!

Hi guys, hi darren, tomorrow morning i'm going to get my wheels for the hachi:D

They are 8x19" OZ Crono HLT offset +35mm.
Tires: Hankook S1-Ventus 225/35 R19

I hope they will fit the hachi, at the moment i don't know if they will, cause my car arrives at the dealer on the 20.09 :iono:

When i know if this comibination works, i'll post some pics!!
It's although planed to install KW Coilovers Var. 3 to lower the hachi for 40mm.:burnrubber:

you should probably note if these lowered cars have done anything to change camber. If they have, your numbers will need to take this into account as the top of the wheel will be moved inward with this measurement.

Ummmm Matt, if you scroll up to my last post (don't worry, it's just three posts above this one) you will see exactly what you just pointed out. :)

So if I lower my car 1" and want my stock wheels to be flush, I would go with 25mm spacers/adapters on the front and 35mm on the rear?

I see most people go with 20mm and 25mm spacers. Is there a reason not to be flushed?

To avoid any chance of rubbing outer fender. 2 year old thread lol.

Two, no three reasons I can think of:
1. 25mm & 35mm might just make you hella flush (meaning you need the negative camber to tuck the tires under the fenders). Not everyone wants this, so most I've seen go 20mm and 25mm or 20mm and 30mm.

2. The stock tires/wheels are quite skinny so hella flushing a skinny setup can look rather dorky.

3. Scrub radius is already pretty far out there at 20/25, going any further might not be such a hot idea.
